    Absolutely, those two have a very similar case capacity. But to translate the original question to .30 caliber, what would recoil be like for a .308 and a .300 RUM pushing the same projectile at the same speed? We’re comparing volume (powder capacity) of a kumquat vs a watermelon.

    I’ve never had a beanie keep my head as warm as a Stormy Kromer. I run hot already, but I’ve been cooked out of mine in 0 degrees with just a minimal amount of physical activity. Which then freezes my ears and I put it back on and deal with it.

    SlikPRO CF-734 Carbon Fiber Twist Lock Tripod + Slik SVH-520 Fluid Head

    I have a slik 634 and I like that. Not quite tall enough to use binos while standing, but can use spotter/phone scope while standing easy enough. Been reasonably happy with the tripod for 3 years now. Slik makes quality stuff. No experience with the head you referenced though.

    Favorite camp meals?

    I always do the boil-a-bag thing. Make sure you double seal each end - nothing worse than having a bag come unsealed while heating. Favorites this year was kahlua pork and rice, pizza casserole, red beans and rice, shepherd’s pie, and beef pot roast.
