Wrong. According to this https://thealaskafrontier.com/bear-attack-statistics-attacks-in-alaska/
“Alaska averages a fatal bear attack once every other year”
We have had fatalities every single year for a while now.
I like the kuiu harnesses. I recently tried a SG harness and was disappointed as the weight of my binos made the harness slide up on the back of my neck which is very aggravating.
We’ve never run a heater all night. Too dangerous. We just take an appropriate sleep system and when it’s real cold I add my fleece balaclava. I’ve also used a puffy coat inside the bag but you may eventually get too hot.
I dropped my binos a while back because I hadn’t attached the tether when I switched to my new SG harness. (I like the kuiu better, the stone slides up onto my neck with the weight of the binos) slipped on a rock and they went flying landing hard on a rock down hill in front of me. Sent them in...
I’m mostly irritated that the non residents get to find out their results WEEKS before the people who live here. The game and fish are very VERY good at catering to the non residents. After I see my unsuccessful bull tag draw for the 12th year in a row I will be irritated about that too.
It’s a hard bow to beat for competition and hunting both. Seems like they haven’t come that far in 20 years. Newer bows shooting 10 to 15 fps faster aren’t really worth the new price tag if you already have a good bow.
Bought it brand new when I was 14 with my own money. (Yes I worked for it) ultratech. When they come out with a bow that will shoot my same hunting arrow 30fps faster or more, maybe I will buy a new one.

Trip was fun but unsuccessful. First day in I passed up a small blacky. Maybe only 100 lbs?? Possibly less. By the end of that day we reached the new area I wanted to try. It was a bust. No greenery and only grizzly tracks. Next morning on our way back to where we should have stayed in the first...
The Olin is cool and all as well as the mag view. But if you’re on a budget, this is cheaper and works well. Butler creek cover with a cheap hard plastic phone case and super glue.
Leaving Sunday for 4 days. Hoping to just see a bear and if it’s mature shoot it. I’m still a super green bear hunter so passing a sow will be difficult for me. But I don’t think the quota ever gets filled in the unit I’m going in. I will take pics! Absaroka wilderness!
Seems like these days there’s a lawsuit over everything whether it’s right or not. Not that I’ve read one over killing a dog in self defense yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I’ve just missed it. My preference would be for the owner to kill the dog or if not then I kill it. I’d like to kill my...
