    Utah draw odds posted

You would be pretty happy if you were the non resident who drew the regular elk archery tag on the Boulder with 0 points! And the non resident who used 19 points for the late season pahvant elk tag, hope he didn't mix up the early and late hunts. If I had 19 (got 14) I'd be holding out for an...

    25 years....

Next morning we changed gears and spent some time along the creeks trying to get Mark a pig, a lot of sign was seen but no animals. We then continued on the search for billies looking over some more promising animals. These were left in the hope that they might keep on growing and still be...

    25 years....

Its been a hectic past 8 months, plenty of hunting and some really nice trophies have been taken in many locations. I've just got in from a great trip into the outback and I thought its about time I post up another hunt report. A friend of mine from Europe came over for a couple of weeks...

    Hunting pants

Pair of running shorts over the top of merino or sport leggings. I think so many hunters in the states feel like they have to wear big bulky pants or pants with half a dozen pockets, look at the guys in NZ who hunt tahr and chamois regularly, 3/4's of them are wearing shorts or shorts with...

Do you use a shooting tripod?

Hi Richard, I like those sticks! Any chance you could do a post on their design with a few close up pics? To the OP i have used the stoney Point tripod in the past with the swinging arm for support under the rear of the rifle stock and it worked superbly in the field for standing shots. Cheers

Beautiful man sits on an island

Thanks for the info and the link to the preview. Hope it goes/went well for your Dustin, it would be a very interesting challenge to be part of. I'd compare it to some longer duration hunts where once you get in the groove and swing of bush life you almost don't feel any need to come home or...

    Rut influence

Whilst it is proven photo - period does trigger females, there is always a slight variance each year as to peak times due to a combination of factors. In my experience at least it is never a certain date on a calendar when i can say this particular species will be going well, its normally a...

    2014 Alaska Moose

Yes i agree, i started taking pictures and photo copies of documentation i need to fill out for all hunts, and they are self guided. You never know when you might need it and how it will help. CG im glad you have kept good documentation, it certainly paid off. I hope you and your buddy get...

    Hey DinkShooter.....

"Dinks male modelling agency"....now that could have potential! You are that far in front i don't even know where the competition will come from. So long as mr 'beast mode' doesn't move to CO the trophy is pretty much in the bag.

    backpack hunt unit 76

I've climbed plenty of ridges in that corner, never had a problem locating deer or elk, just get away from roads and ATV trails, ( i think they have restricted ATV access in some areas recently) put your pack on and hunt areas that can't be glassed from roads. Fly camp into basins and on big...

    New Zealand Research

So many options for a hunter who is keen to go self guided over there. Animals are not easy and very switched on as they are potentially being hunted 12 months of the year. Most of the americans i have taken out over there find it hard to adjust to hunting critters so switched on in very...

    Instagram Handles & fave shots?

I sometimes access instagram using iconosquare, its a good program to look at statistics and pics etc and you can look at your feed. Gerald you could create an account on a mates phone then just use the computer for the feed? I am not into the social media much at all, especially, Facebook...

    WTB Mystery Ranch NICE Frame

Hi guys, Trying to find a secondhand frame. Looking for a medium yolk with medium waist belt, in foliage colour, would consider a large yolk with medium waist possibly. Got two bags and one frame and its a bit of a pain swapping over the frame between bags to suit my hunts. Thanks guys...

Hi guys, i have been hunting for a few years in unit x, and i drew a tag in unit y, can anybody help with information on this hunting area, locations, animals, etc etc (it really pisses me off when they have bugger all posts, obviously hunt, DO NOT want to help others by writing about their...

    Podcast - request for topics

Good luck Randy. I listen to a few podcasts, all hunting related. 1) Be nice to hear one on your experiences hunting Arizona Elk on the Late season, provide some pointers, tips and information for others to learn as there is probably a lot of guys in the line who might not be holding out for...

    Best all arround power binoculars

Hands down 10x42's for me. You will appreciate the power when glassing across basins and open country, and if you still hunt bush country then just slow down your speed of panning and they will be fine for closer stuff.

    Kowa Spotters

What about using a decent pair of tens and a pair of swaro 15's for longer range stuff, normally through the 15's you can work out how good an animal is, i rarely take a spotting scope into the field hunting.
