    General Reloading Question(s)

So would your cases be considered "fire formed" with exception of the necks? I would assume if that is the case then headspace is a non-issue? Not trying to run this thread into multiple pages, I just like hearing everyone's thoughts. My favorite way of learning and confirming.

    General Reloading Question(s)

Thank you JLS... the link was very helpful in clearing up some of my questions. Typically my loads end up in the top third of the charge range and I don't push them too much. So I do not consider them hot really. Probably why I have not had to do any trimming.

    General Reloading Question(s)

I'm going to have to do some studying about precision die setting. I read the same yesterday and I really do not know what "bumping" means. I have always set it as directed in the die instructions. I think I understand the principle as it applies to work hardening but how to control it will take...

    Nfl

I wonder if this would be had Jacksonville drafted him. He has a pretty darn good support cast. I like him and I think highly of his skill set, but I have to wonder.

    Newbie

Me too.... if only I could talk my wife into it. I like Ohio just fine but it would be better with mountains and elk. Welcome.... you will be glad you joined. Wish I had years ago.

    General Reloading Question(s)

Here is what Barnes tested.... I don't have time to go through all the powders and charges though...... even if I can find them. Not that it wouldn't be fun. Thank you for the link to RL 17.... I see they were testing BT's in various weights for 7 RM. Could be a possibility. Ben you must be...

    Hunnting with a handgun

Hi Andy, Welcome. You certainly joined a good forum. Lots of good people here with good knowledge to share. I've never used a handgun but have been killing deer in Indiana with a handgun cartridge in a lever gun since they changed the law and really like it. I use a .44 Rem. My friend uses...

    General Reloading Question(s)

Good information and thank you for sharing it with us. I didn't realize that temperature was that big of a factor... I am loading for my elk trip in October and I don't need anything like that causing me problems. Who knows what the weather will be, but it is 80+ here now.

    General Reloading Question(s)

Dang it! :W: That is what I have heard/ read too but I was hoping I would hear different here. I would like to use H1000 but I cant find it anywhere close and I need to be loaded in a week or so. I may have some 4831 SC..... isn't that one of their "extreme" powders? I think it is in the...

    General Reloading Question(s)

Thank you fellas, appreciate hearing from experienced folks like yourselves. I reload for my .357 cowboy revolver, 7mm Rem Mag, and .44 Marlin LA for deer hunting. Just a little irritated with the availability of powder here in Ohio. Was never an issue back home (Indiana). I have some...

    NM Summer Bighorn

Wow.... the country is stunning. Had Qtr horses most of my life until recently. Did some pretty scary stuff during my youth down in Southern Indiana but nothing like that. Testament to your training skills and ability to pick out good animals. Appears that it would take just a tad bit of...

    General Reloading Question(s)

I am sure most of this is covered somewhere within the forum, but I haven't found it yet and since there isn't much hunting going on I figured you all wouldn't mind a revisit. Curious, when you are developing a new load and are looking through the data there are normally 4- 6 workups for each...

    Conflict

It is certainly tough on you either way, but you are for sure making the right decision. I was in three sports all through high school and one in college. My parents collectively missed one event (as punishment for something I did). At my last H.S. sports banquette I had them stand up as I...

    Bullet Jump ?

Me too... I have heard and read nothing but good things about both. I was loading 160 grain bullets. In fact, I bought them at Cabelas on the way home from Colorado after I found one of my Sierra bullets had fragmented. I would have to look at my notes for the powder I used etc.... but the...

    Bullet Jump ?

If it's a factory gun, I'm guessing this will be the case. Today 10:31 AM 2000 Remington BDL 7mm Rem Mag. - no mods. Just for information.... I probably wouldn't change bullets except I was using a cache of Speer TBBC which I can no longer get. I have loaded Accubonds and Partitions and I...

    Bullet Jump ?

Thanks fellas....I think I will order a Lock-N-Load Comparator and start my loads at the recommended .050..... seems to be the consensus. I appreciate all of you taking the time to comment.

    Bullet Jump ?

Okay, so I am switching to Barnes TTSX 150 gr 7mm Rem for this years elk hunt. I am not an expert by any means, but I enjoy reloading. I have always loaded my own elk ammo but never this particular bullet and I have read where the solid copper's like a little jump, or the guns do whichever. I...

    Flatland Whitetails

Nice deer! Thanks for sharing. I have a small tract of land in SW Ohio that I am going to put a cam on this weekend. Been too busy, but I have dedicated this Saturday to it. Its hard for me to get too awful excited about deer hunting yet when I am planning and packing for my western trip...

    Birthday Bangstick

Man Im going to have to show some of these posts to my wife. She thinks that if I have one shotgun, one handgun, a muzzle loader and a rifle then I have all I need. That's not the case, but its a struggle to explain that I "need" another gun not to mention having her buy me one for my...
