hunts in the mountains? Would a 3-season or 3+ season tent be suitable or do you really need to go 4 season in case you get hit by a snowstorm?
I'm not interested in a tipi tent and I know a lot of folks on here recommend but that I like being in a tent and I find they are more resistant to bugs
all the mountains in my satellite imagery right now are completely snowpacked which makes e-scouting pretty useless. At least that's what I see all over my WY map satellite imagery. Those images must've been from winter.
Anyone else experiencing this?
google earth's picture quality is better than all of them. only problem is the units are not labeled so you have to guess where the boundary lines are but you can transfer all waypoints of Google Earth to OnX
@onX Hunt can we change the satellite image we get in OnX? The image I get must have been taken in the dead of winter with heavy snow pack in the mountains throughout all of Wyoming's mountain ranges. It provided very little on the ground detail due to heavy snow pack. Is there a way to access...
I noticed the current OnX satellite imagery, at least for Wyoming, must've been taken in winter as there is pretty heavy snowpack in all the mountains of the state. Is anyone else seeing something similar with their maps? It makes detailed e-scouting in the national forests pretty fruitless...
Most of his experience seems geared towards the rut and archery season as do most of the modules. Is it pretty applicable for general rifle season hunts? I was considering buying it & wanted some thoughts.
simply because we will be backpack hunting and hauling around a stove/pipe could be cumbersome on top of the rest of the gear. you do make a good point though
good call. thanks for your help. i guess if you keep some large rocks nearby the stove, they may help retain some of the warmth through the night in the tent once the fire goes out
