draws? I drew this year in the general draw from the random portion of the tag allocation (drew GEN Elk Type 1 with 1 PP). Has anyone tried for some of the more coveted tags to draw with far less than needed points?
I've hunted for 8 years in various areas without compass and map? Does it add extra security? Sure but onx and a good external battery for your phone is more than enough, also just having a general idea where the truck is
I'm rifle hunting near Jackson and I'm only seeing signs of post rut activity. Wallows and signs of peak run look at least a week old. No bugles and small cow herds, no bulls. The bulls I have found so far are in nasty terrain solitary and only coming out first/last light.
At least where I'm...
Thanks. I figured at night it would drop below freezing but I admit being a little concerned during those daytime highs. Thanks for the inputs. You're right, it should be fine
Really? I just checked the week forecast for Jackson (seeing a lot of highs in 60s and 70s) my unit is nearby. I know the mountains get a lot colder but I thought it was pretty warm there
I called Southwest Airlines and the guy said I should be ok to store ammo in the gun case and no need for TSA locks. That said, if I get to the counter and the agent demands I not fly with ammo in my case, would it be ok to simply put in a checked suitcase or does the ammo need a locked ammo box...
It's tough finding the right size locks for a pelican case. Too small and it won't lock and too big and you can squeeze your finger inside the case of you pry it hard enough
so TSA can access the case without your unlocking it for them or do you just put standard padlocks on them?
do you put factory box ammo in your gun case?
Corey Jacobson talks about south facing openings as where he looks for grass growing but Randy Newberg talks more about northly facing hillsides that are protected from the direct rays of the sun as best. Which is the better source for grasses typically in northern rocky states?
When I range an item, only one distance pops up. A second one doesn't appear. I don't get a second reading.
I'm unsure if that distance given is linear distance or angle compensated distance
Man, that's some limb to support 50+ pounds. Most of the pine limbs I've found in the area are crooked right by the trunk and would really sag with that much weight
How do you keep your meat out of the reach of grizzlies in the backcountry after you've field dressed the carcass and are making more than 1 trip out?
Is this a realistic method?
