Good luck Nick, I had a friend that took a similar approach. He went from being seriously overweight to now competing in triathlons. He went to an all vegetarian diet.
Stay strong, avoid temptation.
It looks like he was cited for trying to tag it after the fact. It is perfectly legal to shoot a wolf that is attacking livestock or other domestic animals, even with no license or tag.
However, if you do, you can't later try to tag it. You have to turn it over to Fish and Game...
I wonder how long it will be before Western hunters start taking trips "back east" to buy NR elk tags ;-)
It seems like at least a few Eastern states are starting to build herds, but you never hear much about elk hunting there. From what I have read, the original Eastern subspecies was the...
The fee lock program is also on the list.

I'm not sure I follow the logic behind "unlimited controlled hunts". If there are unlimited numbers of tags, why does it even need to be a controlled hunt? Why...
Great questions JLS. I think that instead of looking at the total numbers for the three states, they need to do a sort of case study for a smaller geographic area with a few packs, where they can actually isolate cause and effect.
Perhaps the take away from the study is that for controlling...
I hate getting into these kinds of discussions because they tend to lead nowhere, BUT the flaw in the analysis is that there really isn't very good data on the true wolf population or how quickly it is expanding <wolf lovers flame away>.
The "documented breeding pairs" data is sketchy at...
I do when I don't bring any meat home. Luckily my better half loves hunting as much as I do. She especially likes to take charge of all the cutting and wrapping, and likes to have a full freezer. Along with all the stuff she grows in the garden and preserves, its an important part of our...
Interesting way of looking at it. Don't forget that for every $1 of revenue that Montana generates in license and tag sales, the feds kick an additional $2 under the Pittman Robertson act.
I know quite a few Montana natives that use this program. If Montana eliminates it, they will definitely lose revenue. You can't implement that big of a price increase and expect to come out ahead.
That being said, Fish and Game departments everywhere seem to have a terrible time getting...
I've done a lot of whitewater float trips with a down sleeping bag. I use a waterproof compression sack for my sleeping bag, inside of a heavy duty PVC dry bag from NRS, and have never had problems.
Check out the e-vent compression sack...
...does any one have any experience with this rangefinder? good experiences or bad?
Cabelas has them on sale for $100 off right now, and I am super tempted to order one, but don't have much experience with range finders.
Just curious of there is any kind of Google Earth or Google Maps layer, or something similar, with Big Game unit boundaries for Idaho and Montana? The Idaho regs have a very rudimentary map. It would be nice to be able to see something with more detail on a PC or tablet computer.
Be careful. I had the front scope cover get stuck on one of my scopes. I tried to take it off by twisting it. It was stuck so tight that it caused the front lens portion of the scope to come unscrewed, and all the gas leaked out. Of course, I didn't notice it until I was into a herd of elk on a...
