Bull moose
I killed a bull with my .270 WSM and 140 grain TSXs. He took zero steps. The next year my dad killed one with the same caliber and load. His also took zero steps. My sample size is only two moose, but they seemed easier to kill than a whitetail.- NoWiser

I have not, but I had Wild Things Furs make a few sets for me when they had some extra fur from a batch of beavers I sent them. They turned out nice and were dirt cheap to have made.- NoWiser

I finished a pair of otter mittens for my wife last night. Just in time for the 3 day weekend. We finally have a little snow to enjoy, too. Been picking off a few coons here and there as I get time. Mostly just trying to help out the turkeys and pheasants come nesting season.- NoWiser

We pulled traps this morning and got 6 more beavers. Nothing giant and it was too cold to mess with pictures. I just got home and weighed the 4 biggest ones from yesterday. They were 78, 62, 62, and 55 pounds.- NoWiser

Set some traps yesterday. My buddy had to pull my frozen waders off me because I could not get them off. -16 this morning when we did our first check. Nabbed a few monsters. Will pull traps tomorrow when it’s supposed to be even colder.- NoWiser

It’s been slow here lately. Just the one marten on our trip. I wish I could have stayed a day or two longer. I felt good about my sets and it hurt pulling them. So the most reliable way to get them for me has been to trap out a colony of beavers and then just leave the traps at the underwater entrances to the lodge and/or bank dens.
