    Musician Hunt Talkers

For sure! It’s been a long time since I’ve sat down with a sheet of music worked on my reading chops, but it does wonders for the mind. It’s almost like glassing. I have to stay very focused, because the second my mind wonders I’m sure to miss something.

    Musician Hunt Talkers

Heck yeah it counts. I’d say playing a mean kazoo oughta count, so being able to be a band director is a cut far above the entry threshold in my book.

    What's your side hustle?

That’s my guess. I’d never thought about this before last Thanksgiving. My wife and I were doing thanksgiving with her family at a campsite. It was pretty cold. My BIL brought out a coal shovel and shoveled some coals under each of the camp chairs, and holy smokes did it make a difference!! I’m...

    What's your side hustle?

In my experience, the main reason people donate things is not to help the under privileged, it’s to get rid of stuff without having to deal with the hassle of selling or hauling it to the dump. And what if those less fortunate wanted to flip it and make a little extra cash, so that they are now...

    What's your side hustle?

I play bass in a band. Nothing too serious, a couple shows every few months. It doesn’t pay a lot, but it puts a little fun money in my account. Couple hundred bucks a year kinda thing. I also buy, fix up, and flip guitars and basses. Generally inexpensive stuff; buy for $70, clean it up, fix...

    Good for you Botswana

My hang up with elephants is how damn smart they are. It’s one of those things where the reasoning of killing it is OK because of the clear delineation between man and beast becomes fuzzy at best. They're one of the few non-primates that can recognize their own reflection. They can paint, have...

Michigan DNR: Hunter kills gray wolf in Calhoun County Lower Peninsula

Is there any repercussion for the hunter? Doesn’t mention any kind of fine or anything. I’m unfamiliar with MI’s regs, is there an open wolf season?

Soooo I did a dumb thing

I’ve got a set of these on a few of my rifles, and haven’t had any trouble with them yet. They’re cheap, but seem to be solid. https://a.co/d/c0NQgUS

    "Texas Heart Shot"???

Ok, I’ve never heard of this before this thread. Is it where you simply shoot the animal in the hind quarter in hopes it won’t be able to run, and thus giving you another chance to make a better shot? Or is the idea to shoot straight through all of the organs, and hopefully hit the heart, by...

Mountain lions "losing fear of man"?

I have no idea what his real name is. This is the guy’s channel: https://youtube.com/@apex-livingwithpredators8379?si=5m4jpFz1PnuaeFYm

Mountain lions "losing fear of man"?

This particular YTer lives in south-central WA I believe, that’s how I found him. I only hunt in Oregon, so only care to watch content from the PNW as hunting anywhere else is pretty irrelevant to me.

Mountain lions "losing fear of man"?

There’s a guy on YT that I’ve seen a few videos from, and their whole shtick is that they exclusively hunt predators, in an attempt to reinstate the fear of humans in them. I don’t think it’s going to have the effect he hopes it does, but it doesn’t hurt to remove a few from the landscape...

    Rossi R95 Review

All the reviews I’ve seen on these r95s seem to indicate that they’re shooters. I’ve only taken my 336 to the range once so far, so I haven’t gotten a good impression on how accurate it is yet. It wasn’t grouping particularly tight on that trip though. 2-4” groups at 100yd. I wasn’t exactly...

    Rossi R95 Review

Very nice! I had been dead set on getting one, but then I found a deal on a used 336, and went that route instead. I’d still like to pick up an R92 in 357 some day for use in a straight walled state white tail hunt, and plinking at home.

    More Eve of Destruction news

I’m 33 now. Whether is happens now, or later, I’ve come to expect I won’t be able to collect social security until my 70s…if I make it that far. It’s really pathetic that this is who we have for our representative government.

    Not on Your Bucket List

I don’t really care to hunt sheep or goats. Too much work to get to where they live and then get them out. Moose is the other big one. I had it a few times when I lived in AK, and it never tasted like anything spectacular to me. Also they’re huge, so the pack out is going to suck, and the...

    Ocellated Turkey - World Slam

I went to some Mayan ruins in the Yucatan in January, and one of those turkeys was chasing and kicking at us. Been wanting to kill one ever since hahaha.

    TIL

About 2 years ago I finally realized the reverse lights on a car are white to provide illumination as you back up. 🤯 I figured they were just that way to differentiate them from tail lights and turn signals. Boy did I feel like a dunce for it taking 16ish years of driving to put that together.

Do you have an inner monologue?

Mine tends to be more of an outer monologue. Staying silent isn’t something I’m good at, and I do better when I outwardly process…that is to say I’m talking to myself constantly. So, I do have one, but only when I have to. I’m not just going to call someone hideous to their face, gotta keep...
