    2022 Colorado draw results!!!!

Incorrect assumption. Same process s as last year. The new part is being able to return the tag early and avoid the longer rebate process that happens later.

Point Creep realistic topping out number

"You can buy a bear tag today in MT/WY/ID and have great hunt for the next week+." - Strawman argument, the discussion was about elk, and in particular, bull elk. "A youth NR lope doe tag in WY is nearly free." - Strawman argument; I am not a youth and we are discussing bull elk. I can hunt...

Point Creep realistic topping out number

I can see your point. As a CO resident faced with a 10/90 split in MT my gut reaction is to declare quid pro quo and advocate for CO to take the same position relative to NR's. Overall I think that is bad and is the first step to eventual outlawing of all hunting. When NR $'s dry up and the...

That’s my guess as well. That was how 2021 played out.

    Colorado 2022 Draw Results

2022 Regs state that CPW charges awarded license payments automatically with follow-up courtesy emails. Watch you cc on file as that will still likely be your earliest indication of a successful draw.

    2022 Colorado draw results!!!!

Last year, I heard bear early, then deer. For me, both of those were effectively 100% chance of draw so no drama associated with them. Had to sweat the elk tag for 4 days but eventually got that tag too. I expect the same cycle this year.

A "common sense" proposal that will piss off both sides

Outlawed for lethality or concealability? I am suspecting the latter. Again, a little homework on your part is needed.

Supposed "food shortages" in America and higher food prices. How do they affect hunting?

Agreed. That is why what beef I do buy, I go direct to a rancher and buy half-a-beef from them and get a local butcher to cut it up the way I want it. Even if it costs the same, I am happy to see those $'s go to the rancher and butcher rather than one of the big four.

Supposed "food shortages" in America and higher food prices. How do they affect hunting?

I would be in favor of that if Colorado did the same. Heck, I would even be willing to go up into Wyoming and help "herd" some of that game south as well. /sarcasm

    Montana draw

Have any of the successful NR's received their tags yet? I was successful getting a NR BG combo but haven't seen anything show up in the mail.

A "common sense" proposal that will piss off both sides

I think you need to hone up on your fact checking before advising others not to get too far out on a limb. In FY2021 federal expenditures were 41% Income/Social Security; 22% Health Care and Medicare; and 11% National Defense. The first two, collectively grouped as entitlement spending...

    Hot tent vs not

Quite a bit more expensive than my setup as well which is no surprise. Ultra lightweight usually translates to higher cost. It may be worth it to some folks though.

    Hot tent vs not

No experience with it but looks interesting. I don't like that you can't use both the nest and the wood stove. I can use a 1.5 person nest with bathtub floor and a wood stove in my Hexpeak XL. All in tent, stakes, dedicated pole, and nest is 72.9 oz so mine is a bit heavier; similar floor...

Leuka tape. Put it on before you take your first step.

Necessary gear for first western hunt.

Boots for sure. I hunt steep and deep in Colorado mountains. Terrain is brutal on the boots so pick good ones. Sore beat up feet will end your hunting in a hurry. If you are rifle hunting, assume the weather will change a lot during the day and day to day. Base layers are a must but an overall...
