Lots of good advice in this thread and I’m Mostly echoing what’s already been said , but this point rules them all.
If you are comfortable to hunt solo just send it, do your due diligence but don’t put too much pressure on yourself to be successful.
I wouldn’t hunt nearly as much as I do for...
Hunting Mountain Goat in Alaska this year, my brother is a resident and all the tags are over the counter so no draw.
To avoid the stress of drawing something crazy this year and having to split time I’m going points only across the board in other states. I’ll apply for a special MT deer...
I love the gun when it shoots and it feels great in hand which is why I bought it. Do a quick google search on smith and Wesson m&p 2.0 issues and you will see hundreds of articles and posts about issues with the gun. My gun happens to have all the issues, namely failure to feed rounds out of...
Whatever you do, do not by a Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 10 mm. I bought one about a year after they released thinking they must’ve had the issues ironed out. It is by far the most unreliable and disappointing firearm or purchase in general that I’ve ever made.
My first big three tag, DIY Kodiak Mtn Goat is this fall and I’m already dreading the possibility of eating tag soup on it. Hard not to think about the possibility when you’re putting forward a relatively significant amount of cash… I feel for all you guys on here who’ve eaten tag soup on a big...
I’d try to pick a unit thinking that it would be more ideal for mule deer or antelope.
In areas like you’re describing, don’t over look small pieces of public that border private, such as likely looking draws/gulleys that run out into public, or pieces of property adjacent to say a pivot...
Thanks for reaching out, I really appreciate it! It looks like we aren’t able to PM because I think you have to have a l certain post count before that feature is available. Feel free to shoot me an email at [email protected] thanks again, I’m looking forward to talking with you.
Nice write up, thanks for the response. I’d be curious to know what kind of elevations and habitat you were finding the deer in that time of year? I think we are going just a week later than you did from Oct 8 - 18. Also, on your hike up the mountain you mentioned the brutal brush, if you draw...
I’m lucky enough to have a brother who is an AK resident officially as of this year. We are lining up a Kodiak mountain goat hunt and obviously we are extremely excited. I’ve done a ton of research on what’s available, but of course am looking for every bit of info or experience so can get my...
Kind of funny. I’m in nearly the exact same situation down to the caliber gun. Except the 3-9 I took off my rifle was an old vortex, but I did notice the exact same thing you described here with the VX3 4.5-14 CDS
I imagine it will become more natural with time, after shooting the same scope...
Looking for some advice here. I don’t know much about about the specifics of setting up rifles and the people working local gun stores seem to know just about as little as I do.
My girlfriend bought a Ruger American and Vortex Diamond Back 4x16x44 scope. It’s mounted on the guns picatiny rail...
In the market for a Nikon Monarch 7’s or HGs. I’d also really like to put a new rifle on my scope before season gets here, open to options please let me know what you guys have laying around.
