I’ve seen goats on the slopes above Upper Slate Lake. It takes a little commitment to get there - about 18 miles round trip and significant elevation gain.
I think that is the only drawback of that rifle. The receiver and barrel aren’t stainless (I realize they are Cerakoted). Your situation shows that Cerakote doesn’t stop all rust. I’m not sure why they don’t do the whole rifle in stainless and then Cerakote it?
I think WY is a great place to start accumulating points, especially if your goal is a general tag. Keep in mind that those limited units that you can draw with 7-10 points now will likely require a lot more points to draw by the time you get 7-10 points.
There are ways to get more “mileage”...
