Where do you get your forecasts? I’m a fan of the NOAA forecasts but always like to see other sources. Does anyone have a report on the smoke? Gardiner has an AQI of 153 . Really bummed considering that things were going pretty well and that smoke is the only deterrent to staying out there.- mountainboat

Over Crowding in Montana Archery Elk
The big belts aren’t as crowded as they appear. The trailheads look like parking lots, but there just aren’t many other options for parking. You are spot on that there are roads everywhere in Montana. It really is difficult to get even 4-5 miles away from a road. My advice would be to find elk...- mountainboat

Anyone want to start a sheep themed book club? I’ve been trying to get my hands on “Sheep and Sheep Hunting” by Jack O’ Connor but it’s tough to come by and expensive. Also- has anyone here read “Rammin’ Around” by Jim Ford? If so, what are your thoughts on the story of his unlimited sheep?- mountainboat

Can someone explain to me how the unlimited sheep, generally spending more time in the timber, develop darker horns due to sap? I've seen it mentioned several times here. Do they rub on trees like deer and elk???- mountainboat
