I’d rather feed the eagles and coyotes than throw it in a landfill, which is what they would have had to do with it otherwise. It might offend some people’s sensibilities, but sometimes that’s what you have to do with a bear that’s causing problems. I don’t see how it’s any different than an elk...
It’s finally happening, everybody stay calm.
I finally talked him into pulling the trigger on a last minute deal on a nice used Adipose flow. The dogs are having a hard time containing their excitement.
I’d say a 165 ballistic tip is just about the perfect all around bullet in the .308. Plenty tough enough for elk. Bonded is fine, but I’d watch your velocity with a mono in the .308.
Some day I really want a nice lever gun, maybe a .35 Remington, maybe a .348 win, maybe a .444 or .45-70, with a good set of peep sights. My dad had an M1 garand and M1 carbine that I shot a lot when I was a kid and they gave me an appreciation for how accurate a good set of peep sights can be.

Agreed. I’m a wade fishing guy on that river, it can get sketchy for floating. It’s like a completely different river after the floods, but the fish seem to be doing well.
It’s definitely fishable, just impossible to wade still, I was pretty limited to where I could get on foot. I bet it drops to about 2000 CFS soon, and that will be prime time for big dry flies.
I would recommend any travelers to Billings not stay at the Vegas Hotel, Rodeway Inn, or the Motel 6. They have been taken over as housing for the local criminal population.
Worst I’ve stayed at was the Holiday Inn in Great Falls. A very persistent smell of weed, alcohol, and vomit everywhere...
Due to some extra funds from horse trading and a ton of overtime, and my old 4” Colt .357 being out of commission, I found myself looking around at some shorter barrel double action revolvers to pack around the mountains and came home with a 4” S&W 629. I always regretting getting rid of the one...
