I had a ewe tag on Clemens in 2019. It’s basically a one day hunt. The sheep are probably spread out over most of the area from Naches up to Cliffdell and over the other side above the Wenas valley. The vast majority are on the 410 side from about a half mile below the feeding station to...
This too^
I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier. I'm not sure how the kits are nowadays, but I bought a factory built one years ago before the kits came out and it's a very good shooting rifle.
Hi Oak. As a follow on to the post about Washington residents, do you know if there a reason why the tickets for the bighorn, pronghorn, 6.5 PRC rifle, and Swarovski binoculars show as costing $50/ticket on the Washington State form versus $25/ticket on the on-line purchase form? I'm hoping...
Hey Gomer, I'm sitting here at my daughter and son-in-laws in Chandler for a week. Anywhere close I could go try to find a couple of deserts to look at? I was thinking of heading over to the Superstitions for a day trip if I get a chance.
I've been lucky enough to take 3 goats (prior to them being OIL), bighorn ram, bighorn ewe, and bull moose here in Washington, I drew my first goat tag at 14 the first year I put in (1972), my ram tag in 2014 after 42 years of applications, and my moose tag in 2015 after 38 years of...
I bought one of the Green Mountain drop-ins quite a few years ago along with a lot of other members at the time. The .62's were smoothbore, but several of us sent them to Ed Rayl who rifled them 1:72. Probably the only drawback to this particular barrel is that Green Mountain had an issue with...
Hunting Sunday in the Snake River breaks I spotted this buck as he bedded from almost a mile away. Even closing the distance to about 600 yards I still couldn't tell if he was a legal 3 point. The sun glare through my spotting scope was just too much. I finally managed to sneak up to the top...
Wow, I can't believe you just gave up that little secret to the public....now everybody will be dragging their "baited" drift boats up the Boulder road! ;)
2015 hunt here in Washington after putting in for 38 years. One shot in front of the hip and out through the far shoulder with a 338..solo and about a mile + from the road. He was only 39", but he's all I would have wanted to cut up and pack out alone!!!
Not an unlimited ram and they may be larger than my California Bighorn from Washington, but the head and cape were about 25 - 30# and the meat in bags was about 60 - 65#, if I remember right. Also, I'd be leaving most if not all of my remaining food, though that may be a bad idea with bears...
Congrats on the tag! I drew a ewe tag for Clemans in 2019 with max points. It is a fun hunt. I would suggest taking your time and making it last. With a modern rifle it can be a very short hunt. I used a Thompson Center Seneca .45 muzzleloader and spent some time getting close and still was...
