I hope we aren’t headed for limited entry, but I agree that’s where we are headed if things don’t change. I have over 20 points and I’ll be buying a point this year. Things will probably never get better, but when it only costs us $15 for a point, I might as well build up points in the event...
Thanks for sharing that. I knew the changes could have a negative effect on populations here in Region 4, but based on the lack of public comment against the season extension, I was assuming the changes wouldn't negatively affect region 1 and 2. Those numbers are pretty eye-opening.
The sad...
It was definitely a bummer that the game had to end like that. I wish UConn would have at least had the opportunity to take a shot on that last possession.
I used to always dislike UConn’s women’s hoops teams because they won all the time. Last night I was kind of rooting for them at the end...
Great game so far. I’m half tempted to watch the USC/UConn game afterwards. The freshman girl from USC looks like she will be better than Clark if she sticks around for four years. She’s going to break the freshman scoring record tonight.
Agreed, and I actually like that they are squared in MT also. I do believe people that have been applying for the longest time should have better odds, and I also think even those starting at the ground level should have a chance. It seems most of the people that hate the bonus point system are...
That doesn’t surprise me at all in Region 1. I would bet the June 15th extension won’t have a huge impact in that part of the state. I just don’t think all regions should be treated the same. Region 4 is totally different. We have smaller island ranges that are much more accessible, and based on...
It says BMU’s are subject to close after May 31st if female harvest reaches 37% of cumulative spring harvest. At least they put some protection in place, but I wouldn’t say that’s a quota. Maybe I’m missing what you’re referring to.
This was proposed by the commission and not FWP. The current commission seems to generally lean towards opportunity over protecting the resource, at least when it comes to predators. I think FWP would have liked to see a quota implemented in the areas you mentioned.
I was driving down the county road and could see a vehicle parked on the road up ahead of me. Out in the stubble field I saw what looked like two older guys and a dog walking back towards their vehicle, with the guys trailing the dog by about 50 yards. When I got closer I realized what I thought...
It will be entertaining to see how Cebull handles this one. His “increased opportunity for all” philosophy will conflict with his philosophy of making landowners and outfitters happy.
