Examples of elk absorbing shots and not acting hit?
I shot a cow elk several years ago with a 25-06. 2 shots through the lungs at just over 200 yards if I recall. I watched her for a couple minutes while she passed. She stood the whole time. That’s the only time I’ve seen an elk not drop. .308 at 380 yards cow elk dropped immediately. 25-06...- colinstewart

Thanks for asking - just came upon this thread with the same question. The Colorado law makes any scope with a processor illegal. I don’t believe the Leupold scopes use processors…- colinstewart

Wasn’t able to get a good picture in time but last year I saw an albino cow elk. Easily one of the coolest things I’ve seen out in the woods.- colinstewart

Super confusing since all the western states seem to have a different process, but like the other guys said, the PP purchase is during the initial draw. In secondary draw and leftover you cannot purchase a PP, nor will you use PPs for tags.- colinstewart

What is your cooler set up for elk?
I use a 140qt Orca and a 65 quart yeti. Can usually get a front quarter in the yeti and the rest in the orca. Precool the coolers a couple days before the hunt and head out with a few frozen gallon water jugs in each cooler.- colinstewart
