    Nothing fancy

Anytime out in the field with family is a blessing. My son's 15 and he has hunted with since 12, the legal age for taking big game. We prefer archery also which we hunt pretty hard, but will switch to rifle when it's the season.

New barrel from Bison Gun Works

no worries. I'll have to ask him for other reamers next time. Always wanted a 300 wsm but didn't see the reamer so I had him chamber for the good ole 308 instead.

    Friends 284 Win Build

This is funny, although I do like my Savage re-barrels.

Congrats on the new truck! There's an empty feeling when you don't have a truck in the driveway. Any luck hunting?

    2022 Toyota Tundra

Totally agree. If the 6.5 bed was available with the crewmax when I bought mine I'd have one. Still can't justify buying a new truck when my '11 still runs like new with 135k miles with zero issues.

Did you have to rent the reamer for him to chamber?

    Barnes TTSX recovered from elk

I was thinking the same thing. Really surprised it got stuck at 40 yards, but then again, I did recover 1 ttsx shot from a grendel on a blacktail buck. It was also at about 40 yards, slight quartering away. It looked just like the the OP's picture.

    Impressed with monolithic bullet

I've been using the ttsx in 6.5 for the last two seasons and have been pretty impressed not to mention I HAVE to use them due to regulations here. This year I changed to Cavity Back MKZT's but haven't gotten a chance to put them through any game yet. They are supposed to have a lower expansion...

    Barnes copper bullets?

Check Midway USA and MidSouth Shooter Supply. They are harder to find now where everything seems to be like slim pickin's.

New barrel from Bison Gun Works

I know the thread is a little old but did Bison get a 300 wsm reamer or did you have to rent it? I still don't see that reamer on their website. I have used Jim several times. He has great turnaround times. Nice looking rifle by the way!
