How late does the season on most units run? The information I've looked at shows the anticipated season opener (Sept. 15th), but doesn't show the close date.
I've got a couple euro mounts that I had done 5-7 years ago that look pretty good, but aren't as white as some others that I see around. They have a slight yellow to them instead of bright white.
Has anyone successfully re-whitened a skull long after the original bleaching was done? If so, do...
All things being equal, the hunter that spots the animal get's first right of refusal.
Now when hunting with kids or my 82 year old great grandpa there isn't even a question of who is shooting first. Actually even if there was a question with Grandpa, he's throwing lead before there's time for...
Got 6 for pronghorn, deer, and elk...need to use them. Elk is the only hunt that I don't know what to do yet.
How many deer points are you sitting on Fin?
Uhhh, take the gift and don't look back. Research the type of hunt that is most appealing to you. I didn't read anywhere that it had to be a road hunt or done over a feeder. Elk are large animals, you'll have the opportunity to get as sweaty as you want if you knock one done.
Can't help you with the folks who aren't hunting with the required orange on, that is frustrating. With that said, a lot of folks will remove the orange for field photos and a cleaner looking picture. I don't see an issue with that, especially since the orange is usually hanging on a tree just...
I prefer DIY hunts with family and friends, but a deep back country horseback WY Elk Hunt is on my shortlist of near future hunts. This hunt will be done with an outfitter.
I'd be interested to know who you hunted with as well?
I'll reserve my judgement until I see the new black bear hunt on Youtube...Sounds like a good teaser though. Since I only have a tag or two each year, I live vicariously through guys like you. The one that I wanted a do-over on for you was the late season Arizona Elk Hunt that you missed a...
Hey Big Fin, love the show(s) and what a great representative of the hunting community you are. You've really developed a great brand, and I've learned a lot from following you.
You've always be great to share the details of the show, your planning, etc., and I thought it would be fun have a...
A 40" buck is incredibly unlikely, but it doesn't need to be 40" wide to be considered a giant. A Henry's or Strip tag are pretty unlikely as well. After that it comes down to the amount of time spent hunting when deer are most vulnerable. In my opinion early season high country archery hunts...
Good thread.
Meat and trophies are awesome, but I too chase the memories and adventure. I've got a couple hunts that I'd like a do over on with the camera.
