On the way back from town this evening, my wife, kids and I took about 6 miles of level B roads home. Saw 3 massive stud whitetails...Hard to judge with velvet...but the smallest would be around160"ish. !!! One had a really nice drop tine!!

My question is, does anyone have any advise on units in Arizona that are ok OTC mule deer units and ok to decent elk units? That way I can mule deer hunt the area Im waiting to draw an elk tag in/ build points and learn the area. I dont need huge bulls or bucks...Thanks

It's great that Iowa has this as a school extra curricular a activity! The archery programs in the schools have really taken off as well. I see a lot of kids that wouldn't be involved in any other programs take up trap or archery....it's amazing in the transformation of these youth!!
Ok...being an Iowan and having never seen a bear in the wild...what are some general guidelines to tell boar from sow and age? I know this question was asked in a previous thread, but no one has really given a solid explanation on telling between the two or aging.
In S. Central Iowa there are some decent public hunting spots. Some small some larger. I second, that shotgun season is pretty busy. I would recommend archery season, less pressure and can hunt in the thick of the rut. If anyone as has any question as to how or where please feel free to ask.
