How deep are you seating bullets off the lands?? I had a rifle that would show really bad pressure signs when seating barnes bullets close to the lands. But was fine with a .070 jump or more- tom338

Accubound LR
For the life of me I can't get accubonds to shoot in any of my rifles, 4 7mm rem mags, a 338 win mag, a 260 Remington and a 25/06. I have tried so many different powders and seating depths and boxes of bullets its not even funny. Yet I can put in a Barnes TTSX and get great groups. And the...- tom338

Honest opinion on taking the month off work for elk season? Please help!!

What is the 1 rifle you regretted buying or wished you never had bought?
browning x bolt stainless stalker, POS, never did get it to group. 7 rem mag caliber, but maybe a Tikka t 3 lite in 25/06, never got it to shoot better than a 3 inch group at 100 yards, gun got sent back to factory, they replaced it with another that did 2" at 100 yards, down the road they all went -

.300 WBY Reloading troubleshooting
I would guess that your brass needs to be trimmed. I had that problem when I first started loading. Check that first- tom338

New Hunting Rifle advice
If that 300 mag makes you flinch trade it in on a smaller caliber. In doing that you will be able to afford a nicer rifle than just buying another one. Stepping down to a 7mm rem mag, lots less recoil. Still plenty for elk. -

338WM bullet choice
185 grain TTSX and 63 grains of 4064, been using it for years, used a TSX before that and before that a 175 X bullet- tom338

Tikka T3x lite: new recoil pad
My buddy bought a t3x with the supposed new pad, it sucked!! I looked at some rifles in store and about 1/2 were hard like my buddies but that was a year ago -

Will my base layer work for Sep hunt
And depending on where you are at and what dates you go.... 2 years ago in September I was hunting in 18" of snow with my bow. You need to watch the weather for where you want to go and take clothes accordingly, and them so. Always bring a good waterproof outer layer and something with insulation. -

Archery hunt with rifle back up in griz country?
If I had a shotgun to take instead of a rifle I'd take the shotgun with slugs and or mixed with buckshot everytime. But I'd make sure I had good slugs that would handle a bear. -

Need a new archery target
All bags are not created equal. I bought a cheaper green colored bag, can't remember the name but with my bow and arrows the field point arrows blew right thru it. Went back to the yellow jacket bag, no problems stopping arrows. -

I have always felt underpowered with anything less than 12 power on my scopes, I prefer a good 4 x 15
