What’s up with this Montana range

Thanks for the reply’s guys, I really had no idea of history of it. Just looks like a great area from what I can see, and I guess it is. Won’t comment anymore on possible access to sixteen mile creek. Don’t want to make anymore hunttalk guys mad. 😘

What’s up with this Montana range

Drive by this many times a week and keep wondering about it. South east of Toston , between toston and Logan/Manhattn I’d say. Good looking area, no public land it seems. 16 mile seems to own a lot of it. Anyone have history on this area and why none of it is public or even bma.

    5G

Tmobile 5G works great in much of SW Montana. We even use their home internet as our main internet in Townsend, 2-300 mbps download speeds.

Horse camping on Bureau of Reclamation land

Basically am wondering if anyone knows if camping with horses is allowed in the free camping spots located on the Bureau of Reclamation land, specifically Canyon Ferry. If anyone knows it'd be greatly appreciated. Can't find too many rules on their website. Thank you! Dan

    Montana Bear hunting question

Setting out on my first season hunting bears in Montana. I live in unit 301, it is divided like many units for hound hunting and no hound hunting. What does FWP use to set the boundaries? I'm in townsend so in the hound side of the unit. Do they allow hounds in the areas with better bear...

    Rattlesnakes in Montana.

Hi all. New GSP pup in the house and have been itching to get him out to start experiencing wild birds, even if I’m not hunting them. 5 months old so definitely has no experience with snake avoidance. At what point in the fall would you consider rattlesnake risk something to not worry...

I know Montana is full but…

Update: After a couple trips we decided to initially settle in the Helena area, we are in a lakefront rental on Hauser Lake, and the horse is boarded about 5 mins from our house. Feels real good to be a Montana resident after all these years of dreaming about it. I drove a truck for a job...

I know Montana is full but…

What a group of uplifting bastards. 😂. I think some underestimate how horrible other places are, especially the whole of the west coast, and definitely the Seattle/ Tacoma area. Won’t miss seeing what I run across on a daily basis in these cities. Thank you all for all the thoughts and...

    onXmaps Update

If you have any recent version of Android or iOS battery usage in the background should be nothing. They both handle background usage very well. I never close any apps in android, OnX maps has used .01 of a percentage in the past few days.

    Propane Question, any plumbers?

Hi JR Longtime plumber here. For LP gas you would need a 3/4" line from the tank to your kitchen. Total btu's / 2500 (for lp gas, 1100 for nat gas) = cu ft per hour Roughly 62 for your kitchen. Then you go to the chart and at 150 feet 3/4" will give run the kitchen with plenty to spare...

    Any suggestions...

A buddy and I made our first trip to Montana this year and are just over a week into our two week trip, will be heading home Sunday. We have been hunting hard most of the time, some backpacking in and some within 1-2 miles of some roads with exception for a day or two off for some foot troubles...
