colorado draw report
I was looking through the Colorado deer draw statistics and was confused by this. Why would only 3 of the 4 Non residents with 5 point draw and 22 of the 25 NR with 4 points draw and one NR with 3 points draw? Shouldn't all 4 of the applicants with 5 points draw before going to the 4 point...- flyfishmadison

Kids, elk, and the 7mmO8?
I've killed 6 Barbary sheep (aoudad) with a 7-08 shooting 140gr. Accubonds. From 30 yds out to 460yds. 5 of them were one shot kills. I have been more than happy with my 7-08 and the accubond. Andy- flyfishmadison

That has been my experience with it. Great flavor but tough. I now grind mine up and make different types of sausage and it's is great.- flyfishmadison

New Mexico Ibex
I just got an email today asking if I'd like to participate in the Female/immature population management hunt. YES PLEASE!!!! I went with a friend on the muzzie hunt a few years ago. It is some serious terrain. I can't wait to get back out there. Andy- flyfishmadison

pork/beef/fat mixer
My local grocery store sells pork fat for $0.99 per lb. I usually go with 10-15% fat on my sausage. It's usually not a problem if I need a couple pounds. Last time I needed 10lbs and they had it ready for me the next day.- flyfishmadison

Stone Glacier and Other Packs
I just upgraded from a J34 to the stone glacier sky 5100. I really like the new pack. It seems to fit well and is noticeably lighter than my J34. IT carried a load of meat much easier than my J34. I will say that I really miss the scabbard on my J34. I like that my rifle is protected...- flyfishmadison

Hey 1pointer, I just looked up the draw odds for you. There are 600 tags given for each hunt, which means 36 tags for self guided NR. There were 298 NR applications which is a 12% chance, the other hunt had 305 apps for 11.8% That doesn't seem to bad to me, much better than a lot of the...- flyfishmadison

I moved to SE New Mexico about 6 years ago. That was the first year that barbary sheep tags went to the draw. I put in every year and finally drew this year. I had a good friend that wasn't fortunate enough to draw a tag this year take me out to a couple of his spots. I hunted for 2.5 days...- flyfishmadison

Insulating layer
I am looking to add a light weight insulating layer to my hunting clothing. I have looked at the sitka kelvin and the North face Thermoball. Does anyone have any experience with either or can recommend another jacket? Andy- flyfishmadison
