That's awesome that you were able to retire up in the Pinetop area. To be honest, my wife is the one who has such a friendship base here in Phoenix with a longtime history. Tough to convince her to move north. I am pretty happy wherever you place me. Fortunately for me I have a much larger...
Welcome, also from another new guy. Good luck on planning for your first western hunt. Sounds like a good time especially with friends to share it with.

Thank you! I have only been retired for four months yet I feel like I have been busier, in a good way, than before I quit working. My wife even says that she is glad to have me home. Must be doing something right, eh?
Appreciate it! You must have plenty of good whitetail and bear hunting up your way. I have been through PA a few times, beautiful country though I would have a hard time ever leaving these western states.
Thanks! I guess I fit that category too, Old But Not Dead. I was recently at a grocery store purchasing some Boost for an elderly fellow I visit at a nursing home. The cashier behind the counter apparently thought the Boost was for me and gave me my first senior discount without me asking.
Thanks! Retired at the end of last May and I would have to say it is finally starting to seem real. My first goal has been to focus on my health and make exercise a daily part of my routine, so far so good. I will be going on a deer hunt with my boys in November and one of my nephews will also...
Appreciate that, Chris. It's nice to have a forum like this and I would have to say that most hunters I have met are a pretty Okay bunch overall.
Enjoy those outdoor adventures and hoping to share some pics and stories down the road.
New here...appreciate the info & link! Just beginning to go through the newbie stuff, i.e., rules, expectations of the group, etc. I am sure there is already a forum in HT to keep us posted on this corner-crossing battle? I will look as soon as I get the chance.

Phoenix...I like it in the sense it's not too far from elk country & I still get to grow my citrus, fig, and mango trees. I do wonder about our water situation but can't worry about it.
Never been to Montana, sure looks beautiful. Spent five years in Minnesota and have been to the Black Hills of South Dakota a few times. There's definitely something special about these western states. Hope you get back!

Finally retired and have the time, money, and for the moment my health. Just plan on enjoying being around family and making memories whatever the activities.
Been within 15 feet of one with my bow while on a deer hunt. Had an easy shot. I like the fact that we have big wild cats that can choose to hunt you, makes hunting more interesting. I've never been able to shoot one myself.
