Nice list! Eye drops are a nice touch. It drives me nuts every time I see one of those videos with just a couple bandaids and ibuprofen as a “firstaid kit.”
I keep my kit in a half gallon ziplock to save a bit of weight. I still have a tourniquet from a deployment and carry quikclot, plus a...
Great afternoon for a delicious stout! Was trying to listen to the Michigan game while cooking short rib and onion soup, but don’t feel like paying money for it, so playing George Strait instead.
I could use a snow day here in Northern Virginia so I can get some reloading done. Other than that snow days usually call for making deer chili or a gumbo and watching the dog play in the snow.
Because I feel like bragging on the successful part of my Co elk hunting trip, which was the fly fishing afterwards lol! Stopped by the Poudre and managed to hit a short hatch of mayflies and then a longer midge hatch. Had a blast catching a couple nice browns and a beautiful cutthroat!
Was a...
I’ll be out there doing the same. Im using T7 and my plan is to reload every 3 days as long as the weather is dry. If it’s raining a good bit then I’ll change to more often. Definitely will have electrical tape over the muzzle also.
SOLD Mystery Ranch Beartooth 80 small/medium belt with lid. Also comes with brand new rain fly $275tyd.
Bag is in good shape just has some small black marks from me hunting a burn a couple years ago. Great bag, just pairing down my backpack collection.
With a heavy base layer and you not being cold natured, I think you would be good to about 20°, but that would be highly variable depending on the person. For me about 30° is when I swap from Stratus to Fanatic. A puffy vest might get you a few more degrees down also.
Seriously making me wish I had a pronghorn tag this year! I like 5, but I'd shoot anyone of these in a heartbeat! Going to go count my pronghorn points now and see if I have enough to chase anything good next year...
1.Comfort with heavy loads
2.Load shelf
3.Lid for quick access to tp, snacks, headlamp, first aid kit
4.Enough space for me to do a 5 day trip with it
The not asked for #5: not too many pockets. Originally thought I liked having lots of pockets to put stuff in "their place". Nope, hated the...
Tag is good for X. Planning to hunt X with backup locations in X. Never hunted it before, so going in with low expectations other than to learn the unit. Looks like beautiful country and worth the hike even if most of the gouge says it's not great numbers of elk and deer.
I’m for throwing a scope on to figure out what your gun likes, but only if you have plenty of time to get out and shoot it. If you are only going to get out 1-2 times I’d skip it and just shoot with open sights. I have a TC Triumph and am using 130gr by volume of Triple 7 with the Boredrivers...
