Hunts have been slow, only seen bulls. We’re headed back up for the long weekend. It’s gonna be hot again so we’re taking tubes and gonna float the Niobrara river during the middle of the day.
Gonna sharpen broad heads tonight and lay all my camp stuff out in the garage. My wife loves this time of year when I scatter all my hunting crap out so I can go over my lists and make sure I have everything
I forgot about armadillos. My friends south of Topeka told me years ago they’d get to me. I’m 80 miles north of the Kansas line, this one was hit on the highway near where I live in spring 2022.
I’m calling Missouri. It could be Arkansas, eastern Oklahoma, or east Texas. But this smells very Missouri like. Which if it’s from there makes the story plausible.
I’ve watched a lot of cows bloat and die from eating too many legumes. Beans, alfalfa, clover. Yes it takes quite a bit and usually them gorging on it. And no cattle do not get a “belly ache” and stop eating. They are gluttons and will eat until they bloat and die.
