I don’t even think this is that bad, hell 20 years ago when I was 14 or so I went to Denver to visit family. Some of my cousins friends came over. One girl asked me “so do have like running water and electricity where you live?” Of course I played along and said no. But this woman probably has...
I knew I had something similar laying around. I never thought about a horse hobble, I always figured mine to be a hammer with the ends the way they are. It’s next to a tomahawk in pretty tough shape and what I think is a hand axe as it has no notches to attach it to anything.
I’ve somewhat been burnt out on WT hunting for several years, but I see these heavy chocolate horned bucks and I just get this urge to grab my snow camo and head north.
Gonna need scent control clothing and spray when you a great enough hunter to get that close. Imagine the patience and stalking skills it takes to barely get within sight of a critter.
What next he’s gonna do the impossible and get within 800 of a mule deer doe????? #besthunterever
Looks like a hammer, obviously tied to a handle. I’d say a hammer for stakes or a tomahawk type weapon.
We’ve found a few very similar around here, almost always made out of heavy rock. Most axes or chopping tomahawks are chipped out of large pieces of flint or limestone.
I probably shouldn’t be an authority on speeding either, I was 14 had a school permit for a whopping 2 days, wasn’t even driving to school and got a 72 in a 50 ticket.
I think the cops have gotten to the point they’ve given up on me. I did get a 90 in a 65 in a semi about a year ago, but I was...
I understand, but people speed, so if the speed limit is 75, you’re going 75 and trying to pass a person going 74 and it takes 5 miles, you’re going to back up traffic. In Nebraska if you do this even if you’re going the speed limit you will get pulled over and get a ticket for impeding traffic...
Another little tidbit is the rifle he used. My family before my dad didn’t really hunt. My dad bought a ruger M77 mark II 243 and killed his first big buck with it. I killed my first deer with it, he gave me the rifle. (Which created an obsession with Ruger M77’s). So I had my son use that...
I was telling my wife how hard it was to get out and how tired I was from getting it out, then dragging it down across the creek and to the truck. She looks at me like only she can do and says “you wouldn’t have it any other way” and rolls her eyes. She’s right. There’s something about the...
I’ve been fortunate enough to hunt quite a bit. Never anything exotic or Alaska, but a lot of hunting. I’ve had some great days. Killing nice deer, antelope, and elk with a bow, some with a rifle. When you see a kid put in the work to be successful and the excitement they have it’s all worth it...
