I found this on the F&G website and thought some of you would like to know about it.
Fees Rise July 1
Got your fishing or hunting license yet?
If not, you may want to get it now. On July 1, both resident and nonresident Fish and Game license and tag fees will go up. Most fees are going up...
Here's something from the Idaho F&G website that I thought some of you might find interesting. In my opinion these guys got off to easy, but at least they were caught. I hope that Montana throws the book at them for lying threw their teeth to an officer.

Here's a news release from the F&G website. Looks like the general season is going to open on Oct. 10th this year.
Big game seasons reflect commitment to mule deer
The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has made some changes to the big game regulations that are designed to help struggling...
Here's what I found in about 5 hours of shed hunting in SE Idaho this February. I didn't find any large bones but the 4 point skull was interesting because the full skeleton was still intact when I found it and the horns hadn't been bleached by the sun yet. I also believe I saw this same buck...
It might sound too simple but the best way to find older bucks is to hunt places that others don't hunt as often. Hiking harder, Controlled hunts and private land put you in places that others don't hunt as often. I find one of the fastests ways to leave other hunters behind is to climb the...
If you want to hunt bears I would recomend buying a deer tag instead of a bear tag. A nonresident deer tag is good for bears, lions or deer as long as there is an open season for deer and the species on the dates you plan on hunting. If you are going to be there during the rut hunt for elk this...
thanks for the info fairchase. I hope they get ride of the lion quotas in other parts of the state as well.
Here's a complete list of the puplic meetings state wide that was listed on the F&G website.

This may have already been mentioned but I didn't notice it so I thought I would post it anyway.

I think that a bonus point system would be much better than a preference point system too but I still think that the way it is now will give those of us that have been applying every year better odds at drawing a tag. If a preference system is added, people that are less interested in hunting...
The only nice thing about preference points is that it will help you predict when you will draw. Preference points will certainly make it more difficult to draw a tag. If you think the 2% odds on unit 45 bad are now wait until the preference point system has been in place for a few years. More...
Here's something from the F&G website that I'm sure some of you would be interested in. I doubt we will see a preference/bonus point system in Idaho anytime in the near future but you never know. At first a preference point system will appear to help guys like me that can never draw a tag but...
Just a quick correction to Erik in AK post.
A few years ago the SE tag was sold on a first come first serve basis but has changed. It now has an aplication period open until the end of January.
There will likely be well above average winter kill in the mountains surrounding Montpilier so SE...
I'm surprise you haven't had more help. I havn't hunted the Salmon area much but here's some info that might help you out. The controlled hunts in that area are going to give you the best chance at a decent bull or buck. If you are just looking for some meat the cow hunts are your best option...
I'll at least give the Turkey hunting a try because I have a turkey tag from the sportsman pack and have always wanted to kill a turkey. There are certainly a lot of turkeys in the Preston area but most of them are on private land. I'm sure that the public lands that hold turkeys are going to...
PLS9007,
Welcome to hunttalk.
The drought has reduced the number of some of the species in certian areas which could partially explain why your not having much luck but I would guess that learning how to hunt new areas is the main reason. Unless you are going to be putting in for a bighorn...
