Thanks @Buschy we are actually out in Castle Rock also. Seems like a great area.
Unfortunately no hunting in Colorado for me this year with the move and a new baby but hoping to get after it next year! Excited to explore some of those opportunities.
Well the stars finally aligned and was able to move out west to Colorado. Been a whirlwind couple months but we made it through and are in the new house. I lived out in red cliff for a bit during high school but moved away and have been itching to get back out west again.
Family and I moved...
We typically get a pork butt and grind it in. The ratio varies based on application. I am hoping to try and get some trimmings from a local butcher this year to keep more venison flavor.
I tend to sleep better outside than in my home. Regardless of elevation or location. A bit frustrating but makes the time outdoors that much more enjoyable.
Bought one off gohunt last year. It was nice piece of mind having the strings and cams covered. Not sure how helpful it truly is.
I do find it odd wearing it, this might be better if I played with it more.
What do you primarily hunt with? A .22 in that package might be good to be able to shoot more with cheaper ammo.
I am looking into a Tikka .22 since I got a new one in 7mag.
Happened to me a few weeks ago.. not sure if it was the material or my cheap release that caused excessive wear. Now I feel like I am worried about it with every shot. Should probably invest in better dloop material and a release.
I have some old knives, cheap cutting boards and a grinder attachment for a mixer. Plan to upgrade the grinder soon. Depending on the outside temp j will take some old countertop and throw it on sawhorses in the garage and process there. If too warm it’s in the kitchen. Nothing too fancy and...
Besides better glass and materials are you guys finding more durability with these more expensive brands? I bought a pair of Raybans years ago but they got scratched pretty quickly. Could just be to rough on them I guess.
To bring this back up again (had a baby so it’s been a bit crazy at home). I bought the Elite Option 7 last weekend. Oh man is there a difference! Not sure how much faster it is really shooting but it looks quite a bit faster. Draw is smooth and feels great to shoot compared to my diamond...
Shot the victory vforce last year. Cheap arrow but seemed to do well enough for me. I am down to 4 though so probably need to get on this. Thanks for the motivation!
Congrats! Right there with you on the newborn phase.
I have an Eberlestock Just One and two of the zip in duffels in good shape I would be willing to sell. It’s just a bit too big for me.
Thanks all for the insights! Speed isn’t everything for me, as you could see by the heavy arrow. This heavy setup was consistent for me so went with it.
It sounds like an upgrade might be a good idea, regardless of speed, for the improved features and draw cycle.
