Some camo with some earth tone solids. Usually a camo top with brownish pant. The pants end up getting used for more than just hunting. I do own a bunch of camo, but do not have a full head to toe "outfit" of the same pattern/brand.
Everybody's groups open up the less stable they become. MOA is great and I'm not suggesting you shouldn't practice, practice, practice--but you're not going to be hunting a bulls eye. You're going to be hunting an animal with kill zone (vitals). So the question really is how far do your...
We've also seen your sheep wall, which is beyond ridiculous! I honestly can't remember, do you have a caribou that good? That would factor into it for me as well. Unfortunately, I have neither a dall or a bou so I'm probably unqualified to participate in the discussion...
I hope this is a success. My first impression is that it is too expensive (if it really is $1600) for the newbie type hunter--and most of the guys that have been doing it for a while will want to set things up with their own personal touch (not pre-packaged).
Over a 100 participants now and 67.7% of them are at 50%+ of their meat consumption being wild game. Pretty impressive, I'm hoping to move into the 10-25% bracket this coming year.
If your family is eating meat in your home (not out to eat), what is the likelihood that it is wild game?
I'm only a one or two tag a year guy, and my wife doesn't love the idea of wild game--so I'm probably in the lowest category. I often end up sharing with friends and eating it myself.
I love to hunt big game and fly fish. I find waterfowl coming into decoys every bit as fun as those two activities, it really is amazing. What keeps me from doing more of it is the end result, a pile of dead ducks/geese. I dread cleaning and eating them and have a hard time hunting them...
It is nice to have two people to set it up, but make sure you've got a good system. For some reason somebody always wants to start staking the tent down while I"m inside getting the floor, sod cloth, and poles just right. It's a pain in the butt when the tent is already staked. Do that last.
Badlands 2200--heavy, waist belt sucks, doesn't carry heavy loads well, bat-wing pockets are awkward.
Exo 3500--wish it had a U shape outer zipper like the 2000 or new 4800 (I think). Otherwise I think the pack has the right balance of organizational pockets and open space.
I read or hear very little on Hunt Talk and Fresh Tracks about the score of most animals (deer, elk, sheep, etc.) It is generally more about age or maturity of the animal which is great. There are plenty of places to talk about score.
With that said, Pronghorn seem to be the one animal that...
Numerous pros, most have been listed. Love my wall tent.
Cons: Not necessarily hard to set up, but it takes some time. They also take up more room in your truck bed than you would imagine. Don't like to set mine up unless it's going to be there for a week.
