While going through some gear I found 2 pairs of Firstlite Benmore boxers. I lost a bunch of weight and they don't fit me anymore. Size 2XL. Normal little fuzz balls from wear and laundering. No holes or stains. $50 gets you both pairs shipped to your door.
It took me a summer full of training hikes to get to learn my pack and how I like it riding on me. I like to start with the waist belt above my hips, tighten the crap out of it, then stand up straight and let it kind of work down onto my hips after a few steps. I also found I am about a 60/40...
A long time ago I took my son-in-law to a Hunter's Ed course and one of the videos was on improvised shelters. This guy had a Costco size roll of plastic wrap and a one gallon bag of zip ties. He made some cool looking shelters for sure, but myself and the other parents had a good laugh about it...
I am torn between a swaro ATX 65/95 set up and a Kowa 883/553 system. I have read everything I can find and watched every YouTube video out there and found it all comes down to what MY eyes like the best.

My daughter is starting to show interest in hunting as well as my son-in-law. For $1600, I could get both of them setup pretty well and still have money left over for their tags.
Sorry, but I just don't see $1600 as an entry point rifle/scope combo for a new hunter.
For many years I used a $20 Polaroid tripod I bought off of Amazon because it was <1 pound. I ran that with a field optics adapter. The legs on the tripod were fixed and couldn't be adjusted outwards. The adapter was fast to connect, but not solid and allowed the binos to wiggle in the wind...
