I've hunted unit 28 in 3rd rifle before, lots and lots and lots of hunters. And I'm confused about OP's your camping question, there's tons of national forest in the units you mentioned, what are you looking for, RV hookups or something? -

wllm1313 has good advice, need to know more what you plan on doing before giving advice. Depending on what you want, I would add a Mystery Ranch Beartooth to the running, got some pretty good upgrades on the Metcalf.- CORN

Thanks for all the feedback gents! Glad to hear the Uncompahgre is decent at blocking wind. Gonna get it sans additional wind-blocking layer and see how it does. Hopefully get a chance to test it out before third season. Happy hunting!- CORN

300 Ultra Mag or 300 Win Mag
What is the intended use? Pretty much anything in the lower 48 can be taken with .308. Magnum cartridges make a big boom which I guess is cool, but I think a lot of people shoot less accurately with magnums because they are more likely to flinch/pull their shot...plus ammo is more expensive so... -

That's the crappy thing about innovation! When I'm getting a piece of equipment I research around and try to get the best I can (within reason), then I make a point not to look at anything new that comes out in that field for a long time - happier that way :)- CORN

I'd check out the Beartooth. It's new for this year so you're not going to find a ton of info on it online, but it's only half a pound heavier than the Metcalf, but it's larger and has more pockets/areas to store different gear, and a duffle style zipper, which I think is a great idea (get at...- CORN
