I retired pretty early (52) when I retired... I had quit a job with plans to get another one when my wife and I had a meeting with our fidelity rep ( great bonus with using fidelity) and he encouraged me to enjoy life and stayed retired. My wife joined me 3 years later so now we are both...
Thanks guys..yeah I have no intention of trying to fight the fire..my neighbor said he is gonna stay.
We have insurance and had cut back the trees this past spring.
Thanks for the advice
Hey guys,
With this year being an especially bad fire season I thought I would see how everyone is preparing.
We are gonna put a go bag with essential cloths and meds near the guns and important paperwork. This would be the “ya gotta go now with no warning” stuff.
Also, I am curious on your...
After giving and giving and giving to the Army as a civilian and not feeling like I was appreciated, I gave my 2 weeks and never looked back.
The very next day it was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders and the health issues I was having were gone...
Stress is a living thing that can...
I am in the same boat..I have taken my wife on some test hikes but it is different doing it all day..
Lots of good advice already provided so hopefully she enjoys it as I hope my wife does too...😁
We moved to Idaho even though the smart financial move would have been to stay in NC...
But having only lived here 8 months, I have no regrets other than missing my friends. I absolutely love this place ( even with the record heat).
I was in this boat a few years ago. Wife and I decided to pay off all of our debt and retire as early as possible.
We also decided to move back out west even though financially staying in the south was the smart move.
Life is a balancing act for sure but you only go around once..
Just did the “yank it out backwards “ trick on a treble hook that was in my thumb right behind the knuckle.
I had the wife do the yanking and I told her not to mess around when she pulled. POP it was out and we fished for another 3 hours.
The only issue I have is the top of my thumb is still...
I tell people that I have a “winch” but haven’t figured out how to mount her to the bumper...my wife is not amused...actually she doesn’t care as that’s my sense of humor and she did marry me after all...😁
To follow up on my post I bought kenai chest holster from gunfighters and all I can say is WOW!!.
The construction is awesome and my 629 fits like a glove.
I highly recommend them.
If you decide to rifle hunt, I would recommend a leopold scope with the cds system. Makes long range shooting much simpler. Pick a popular round and practice with an elevated heart rate. Also, try to plan to arrive 3-5 days early to get your body used to the elevation and really stay on top...
Since we are on this topic, what kind of holsters are you guys wearing while archery hunting with a backpack and bino harness? I have a smith 629 with a 6 inch barrel ( not a perfect gun but i already own it).
This will be my first year in grizz country and I have never seen one in the wild...
Pretty funny to see this thread come back to life. I posted in July of last year and now I am Idaho and absolutely loving it...
I haven’t got out to do any scouting yet but hopefully that will change soon.
I am thinking about doing this very thing in my new shop. I want to paint it white for light reflection but I also know it isn’t really practical especially where I live.
Please keep us posted
Hey guys,
So we recently moved to north Idaho and absolutely love it and don’t want anything to change.
Here is the question that has been bugging me and I thought maybe someone on here can explain it to me..
Why would someone move to another state because of their current state’s policies...
