I had a Mossberg MVP patrol in .308 that I never could get to shoot well. I tried putting it in a Boyd's stock and that made it worse, and the stock cracked after 20 rounds. I gave up and sold it.
Man I love that army green. Wish it would have been an option when I was getting my Tacoma, probably better off though I don't feel the need to baby the silver paint the same way.
If you are wanting to hunt mule deer in the desert specifically I wouldn't rule out New Mexico either. Several of the southern units have (relatively) easy odds for non residents. I drew an archery tag last year and a rifle tag this year. Even with last year's hunt being my first western hunt as...
I can get from my driveway to huntable areas of the unit I drew for my mulie tag in NM. That hunt is me alone so I will be able to live out of the truck and meet the 14 day quarantine requirement for non residents. I plan to stick with that plan unless they do something more restrictive. I don't...
I use the SG rifle carrier with my MR Pintler. I like the set up a lot, but keep in mind it is definitely not a quick draw system. I can get my rifle in my hands without dropping my pack, just not fast. The hang up is the webbing on the bottom portion. It takes a two handed effort to get it off...
Ignorant is the nicest way I can say it. I do that out of respect for Mr. Newberg and his platform. These things aren't differences of opinion. There is no valid viewpoint that supports discrimination. We don't have an obligation to give ignorance and hate any sort of benefit of the doubt. I...
Well it was ignorant and we don't associate with my grandparents and several cousins for this exact reason. I don't care what the standard was when they were growing up, we know better now (the reality is that plenty of people knew better back then too). I don''t think government should be...
When my step dad was teaching me to ride the best piece of advise he ever gave me was: "Kyle, If you can't take a hand off the bars to wave at the pretty girls, you are going too fast."
Welcome from another transplant to El Paso. Not sure why you would stay out of the desert right now. It isn't even that hot this last week. I am headed out to do my first bit of scouting this weekend for the mule deer tag I drew in NM.
Welcome to hunt talk. See you out there in November. I have the same tag. First time in the unit. I will be getting out and scouting in the next few weeks. I think they have relaxed restrictions enough now.
They have a pretty good selection, their detail guys suck. They left water spots all over the truck when they did the pre-delivery detail and I found the unused tube of paint protectant in the glove box so I have to find some shade and put that on myself t some point soon. I had an ok experience...
