    Food list for backpack hunt.

That’s what I have been doing, these are things I have tried and know I like to eat, I have been doing a few backpacking trips this year and been testing out what I like. I wish I could get the weight down, but running around all day on trail mix and jerky just won’t do it for me, lol.

    Food list for backpack hunt.

I was trying to stay around 3,000 calories per day, I could swap out the cider and cocoa for coffee, but I don’t think it would help any, this just gives me more variety, they are roughly the same calories. I’ll have to look at the electrolyte powders and check them out.

I believe I’ve got my food list close to being dialed in, or at least I hope. Will be going elk hunting in Colorado this fall in 1st rifle season, so it’s only a five day season, but I’ll be going in early to scout. So I may pack a few days of food and leave the rest at the truck to come back...

Gear list for 1st season backpack elk hunt

My list is a work in progress, lol. I can’t decide between the unconpahgre jacket and the brooks down. I’m leaning toward the brooks. Yes, I will most definitely have tracking poles with me, and I’m looking at goal zero for power bank and maybe solar panel. And moleskin and tape in in the first...

Gear list for 1st season backpack elk hunt

Smaller fuel canister, even for 2 people? I’m testing out how many liters I can boil on a canister, I honestly have no idea, I had never used one before a few weeks ago.

Colorado over the counter for 2022

How do you do that? Can you select to just build a point when you apply? And then also get a second choice? I’ve never applied before, but will be as soon as it opens up for Colorado.

    InReach or Zoleo?

I am looking to buy a satellite communicator, trying to decide if the in-reach explorer is worth the money over the mini, In case my phone has issues or battery dies. Is the gps good enough to get back to camp or to the truck? I’ve heard that the gps maps are not that great.
