It’s not a laser sight. The red dot is only seen in the sight itself. You could sight in your AR or slug gun or pistol in at 100 yards or whatever distance you want.
I like my red dot on the receiver as close to me as possible. I’ve never had an issue with the barrel moving on my 870 and throwing my sights off. I prefer the Marlin 336 over the Sumtoy. I get just about all of my shot back and reuse it during my pattern testing.
If your current 22-250s are twisted for heavy bullets, just have one of them setback and rechambered to 22 Creedmoor. That would be cheaper than a whole new build.
Using your 30 yard pin(assuming it’s dead on at 30 yards), shoot at your target at 15 yards. That’ll be the highest point of your trajectory. Then decide if that is acceptable to you. I don’t have to holdover or under with my setup from 0-30. I bet you won’t have to either.
I was always a fixed 3 pin sight guy. Even after having a single pin slider, I kept wanting to go back to a 3 pin. Then I started doing a lot of testing one summer. I realized that even with my bow set at 60 lbs, I could cover 99% of my hunting ranges without moving my sight. Anything over...
That’s the beauty of a single 0.019 pin for me…I never have to think about where it’s set. Having mine set at 30 yards gets me 0-40 and never have to hold off the animal. I love it for the simplicity. I doubt I’ll ever go back to a three pin again.
I prefer HHA sights. I use a single pin and can shoot from 0-40 yards and never have to dial and still hold on the target.
Unless you’re shooting a super slow bow, you should be able to set your top pin at 30 yards. That would give you a 0-30, 40, and 50 pin setup.
That is very odd. All of my Model Seven 308s have been easy to load for at 2.80” COAL to produce less than MOA accuracy. I’ve got loads for one of them with 125 grain Accubonds/NBTs and 165 grain Accubonds.
You still got it? Want to sell it?
I load for over half a dozen Model Seven rifles and have never had any issues with getting less than MOA with any of them. I find them very easy to load for and not finicky at all.
