    Quick Question

Back leg: I was taught that there are two joints close together you need to cut in the lower joint. I use my thumb to feel the joints and find the spot to cut with my knife.

    Quick Question

As I have been looking through many posts of people packing out their deer, elk, or antelope I have noticed that many do not remove the lower part of front and back legs before packing the quarters out. So, just wondering why some leave the whole leg?

    Elk roast prep

Use the Crock Pot with Beef Broth enough to cover the roast, Garlic Powder, Dried Onion Flakes, one package of Brown Gravy mix, and cook on low the whole day. I start mine at around 6:30 in the morning and is ready by 5:00 in the evening. I like my roast falling apart. I save the juice in the...

    ***OFFICIAL*** 2023 SPRING BEAR THREAD

Baits are all out. Lots more snow than normal between 48" up to 72" at the baits sites. Made it super easy to set on snow machines, first time in 20 years that we set all baits with snow machines. Snow has been melting fast over the last few days. At one site there were bear tracks in the...

    Better to be lucky

Not planning on it anytime soon. It has been good to us about 5 yrs ago I was lucky enough to kill a 170" mule deer that is 30" wide. This last hunting season my brother was able to take a 180" mule deer.

    Hunt Talker 2023 Fitness Goals

I had thought that I was doing pretty good being 6'1" and 177 lbs, but a picture in the mirror a year and half ago showed that I needed to make some changes both in my diet and my work outs. My youngest brother helped me set up a workout that was good for me that I could do at home and helped...

    Aoudad Adventure

There were only about 15-20 total in the herd that we shot them out of. When we ran over to the edge to see them all, they were running already, I saw that the first one was a good one, but they were moving from our right to left. My brother had sat down to my left so when he said he was going...

Thank you to everyone who has read this post. Collyer asks almost every other day if there are any new comments. He has read it 3 or 4 times. Today I was able to finish up the Euro Mount for him and got it hung up in his room. He is one proud boy of his buck. Not sure there is anything...

    Aoudad advice

I have only hunted them once, but I would say glass from one spot as well as you can then move to another vantage point to glass. Once you find them take your time, have great eye sight, as once you bump them they can be very hard to relocate them. I found them to be on the higher ridges. It...
