Grew up with a golden retriever. When it came time to get a dog of my own I knew I wanted a dog with the temperament of a golden (or close to it), but I also wanted a dog that pointed birds instead of flushing them. Research and conversations led me to WPG. A year and a half in, I couldn't have...
Skeet shooting or find a sporting clays facility. I used to shoot trap exclusively but struggled with any shots other than straight away. I like that sporting clays have different stations with different shot types from rolling on the ground to coming straight at you. I for me personally I...
That's good to know that stations are becoming more popular. I know my town has one (13,000). I think I'm most excited about popping the hood to a big empty storage space!
I would love an electric truck IF and WHEN a few things get sorted.
Charging time- I read an article about solid state batteries that could shorten the charging time to 8-10 minutes instead of several hours. This is my biggest issue with current technology and the biggest reason for shying...
This. Smoking will also cook it some, so by ending with sous vide I would think you would have better temp control of the meat. I would also try experimenting (if possible) prior to the party.

I have an 8" hand auger I was given from a coworker. I don't go often, but I have strongly considered getting a hammer drill. Cheaper than buying a whole new auger. I also don't have any ice electronics, so that might need to take priority.

I've gotten back into to using my rowing machine (the only form of indoor cardio I can stand), and taking my dog on longer walks. Hopefully we can get more snow for snowshoeing.
Look into the versatile breeds. Find one that fits your style of hunting, upland especially. If you hunt in colder conditions, keep that in mind when looking at coat (gsp vs gwp). Once i narrowed down the breed, I met/called a few breeders. It was nice to be able to ask questions and meet the dogs.
Waterfowl with upland in the mix, I'd go lab from a hunting line. If you plan on doing more upland in the future, I'd look into the versatile breeds. I went with a WPG.
I carry 8" cable cutters. (knock on wood) I have not, nor do I know anyone personally who has had to use them. That will never stop me from carrying them anyway.
Savage 220's are sweet guns if you're in a shotgun only area. Pick one up and mount that rifle scope and keep shots under 150. Or tap the 500 and keep shots under 12 feet.
