I totally agree with you there, the huntplanner maps are great maps for that purpose as you can quickly rule out units you would not hunt but I've done that already so am researching further, units I think may have some potential. In the end I want to have at least 2 units I feel good about...

I could use a little help here. I'm new to onx maps. Previously used the Hunt chip for another state but am trying the OnX Chip and computer maps for Utah. Am trying to research the Elk any bull general units since that is the Permit I have. However, my computer onx map of Utah is more of a...
There is a general Elk muzzleloader hunt Oct 31-Nov8. They also offer an extended ElK archery season From Aug into December but one has to purchase a multiseason license but maybe limited to specific units?
I'd sure be looking for different partners. I'm to cheap to eat a tag though, I would have to go whatever and enjoy the beautiful country if nothing else.
I just checked the Utah Wildlife website and per the title of post all the Any bull, any weapon tags are sold out. It looked like there were still Spike tags left though.
To be honest I don't know exactly but I would count on it being mountainous. Also I haven't definitely decided on a specific unit so that will play a factor of course.
For what it's worth I ordered the Utah Onx maps chip about a week ago. It should be arriving today. I have used onx as far back as 2012 when I hunted Colorado. I've had a subscription to NC on my phone for sometime but it's just for NC but even so I've been able to go their website and look at...
Lazy as a fox!
Appreciate the input all of you! I was thinking it felt like a step into the grey area of what is fair chase. Also I wasn't sure if there was an element of scam in it? How do you put many cameras in every game unit and moniter and tend to them all? It would take a...
I think that's a good question but then again I'm the king of dumb questions. My best guess is hunters report which unit they killed their Elk in. Last I hunted in Colorado was 2012 and I don't recall if I was required to complete a survey. However, last year when I hunted Idaho I did...
I just saw a program you can purchase for your cell phone called "Scout To Hunt". The website claims to have many webcams per hunting unit that help you scout a hunting unit. Supposadly you can view recent pictures taken of various wild game taken with the webcams which list the general area...
Oh, I see now. Yea, a remodel like that will take a long of time. Just make sure (assuming your really like to Elk hunt) that she agrees when you finish the project she won't prevent you from hunting again for at least the next 5 years. Sounds reasonable anyway.
GW,
I have done it both ways. I lean toward having a hunting partner for several reasons. 1 Safety - 2 Calling game - 3 Scouting - 4 security for spouse, - 5 Help getting game out - 6 Sharing the expierence - no one can really appreciate the hunt like someone that was with you on it, - 7...
Just purchased my "Any Bull" any weapon Utah Elk tag and only 665 were left. Just a few days ago there were 2200. If your on the fence like I was probably best to purchase real soon or there won't be no fence to sit on.
