I wonder if the populace of 1934, 1968 and 1983 thought it was political suicide and a reversal was certain? Somehow, here we are still......inch by inch, little by little.
Good idea. I will check with GoHunt or TopRut to see what is available. I think for now, I am leaning towards making 2020 a deer year (Colorado and South Dakota) and going elk from here on out. I have good deer (whitetail) hunting around me in Indiana. Not sure I will put in for anymore...
It blows me away that this happens. The list of people I trust walking through the woods with me with loaded guns is very small. 4 rules of gun safety prevents this.
Prayers to the families!
Agreed. A good bolt gun can be deadly precise. But you can get sub-MOA on a lot of AR15/AR10's. The gun usually always shoots better than the shooter.....both bolt and semi.
What you describe sounds awesome, but I have never shot a bull. I wish that weren't so, but it is and I won't shoot a bull if I don't apply for a bull. So I guess I need to ask myself if I am after the antlers or if I am after the meat. Tough decision for me.
I have seen the video. From the way the victim dropped, I am not sure birdshot was used by the gunman. Anybody have a source saying so? It sure looked like buckshot to me.
Its easy to armchair QB these situations. The important reminder in all of this (and the Texas church shooting) is to...
Maybe its just me, but I would feel a million times better with a full magazine (15 to 18 rounds) of 9mm with a cat closing in on me. 2 barrels of birdshot and the likelihood of not being able to reload and I probably would dropped the shotgun too in favor of the handgun.
I got into the hunting game later in life. I am content on Wyoming, Colorado and Idaho for my elk fill. I don't apply elsewhere.....so it doesn't change anything for me because I can still go OTC to Idaho or Colorado if I don't get a Wyoming tag. I just find out later now.
I have always wanted to do a better job of capturing the moment for memories later in life. Kudos to you for doing what so many don't.
Keep it up and keep grinding it out.
Thought I would post for the Indiana guys on here. From the webpage......

I am looking for some advice. I have been collecting points in Colorado. I keep hearing about Colorado and their no man's land. I have 4 mule deer points and 4 elk points. Is one of those further into no man's land than the other? I want to start cashing them in next year. I would love to...
