What was your first big game rifle, and do you still have it?

The first rifle I ever bought was a Remington Model 70 in .30-06 with a cheap scope as a combo at Walmart. It was a bit over $300 and that was a lot of money to us at the time. I hunted with that for over a decade providing the majority of the protein we ate. Ive bought rifles worth multiples...

In Defense of Mountain House -- a Treatise

Bullshit. I train all year to be able to comfortably carry a few extra cans until drone delivery in the backcountry is a thing.

Another deer age ?(if you don't mind)

    Deer age?

4.5 based on rack size and lack of old deer body characteristics but he looks young in the head down picture. No shame in shooting that deer though. Beautiful animal.

    Correct Way to Sight In?

I use the second but I shoot off a lead sled 2 when I sight in. It is extremely easy to adjust the rifle so the crosshairs rest perfectly on the bullseye both before and after the first shot. Age and Elevation

I always have said that if I have an erection lasting longer than four hours then I am not going to be the one needing medical attention. However, my hunting buddies would probably not be appreciative.

    Age and Elevation

Are you saying 1/2 oz of water additional to normal requirements per pound of body weight? Im sure I drink more than that already at current elevation.

    Age and Elevation

I doubt that it is. My struggle is time but it might be worthwhile to add an extra day to the trip to stay at 6000 or so which is the closest decent town.

    Age and Elevation

Ive had similar experiences, those headaches and poor sleep make for a tough hunt.
