I had this guy in my backyard a couple days ago. Following the does. They’ve beaten a pretty good path around my house. Things are certainly heating up. -

Your doing a fantastic job as a Dad. I have a daughter myself and making time for just her and I has been a focus of mine since day one. I cherish that time and hope that even as she ages she'll still want to hang out with dear old dad from time to time.. LOL.- mannmicj

Hunting season preparations, what did you do today?
Been getting ready for my 2nd Season Coastal Elk Hunt which opens next Saturday. Yesterday I spent time at the range to make sure I’m dialed in. Today I put together a sleeping area in the backseat of my truck. I’ll be truck camping so this is going to help a lot.- mannmicj

Unfortunately, no. This is a first for me. Looking at the numbers, SW Oregon and South Central are the most likely for me to draw with no points. Looking at the numbers from the last few seasons, the vast majority of folks that applied to those and other units had 0 points. Those folks...- mannmicj

Oregon Spring Bear Advice
At this point my goal would be to have a successful hunt. Color doesn't matter and it doesn't have to break any records. Just a legal bear would work for me. In the past I have carried a fall bear tag, but I've never truly hunted them. So I thought a spring hunt would be fun to focus only on...- mannmicj

Thanks for the reply. That does make sense. I've only seen a hand full in the wild my entire life, although I've seen a lot of sign over the years (scattered all over the state). I just didn't know if there is an area that folks consider better odds or hunting when it comes to Oregon bear.- mannmicj

And Tillamook Cheesemakers should be held in the same regard. I've seen some horrible mascots over the years. This would not be one of them. They could be cutting the cheese all over the field or court, which could be quite intimidating to their opponent. Just sayin.- mannmicj
