Another thing I might add is something I see a lot, and that is carrying with an empty chamber. I personally don't recommend it. In my opinion carrying with an empty chamber will cause more harm than good. And again I can't emphasize enough training, and pray you never have to use it. I pray...
I've been carrying since I was old enough to get my license. Lots of good info here already. One of the best things I've done that I wish I did years ago was start training on a range with real life scenarios. Now I train with several guys and I got lucky and was invited by a couple army rangers...
Okay so it's starting to make sense. So if you're lucky enough to get drawn you can hunt that species in any area there are tags your not restricted to just one unit. You still have to purchase the license and everything. So this seems like maybe a good option for someone like me who started the...
I've been tryin to find more info on this application, haven't found much on past threads. I know Randy has mentioned it on a few episodes but can't recall him really going in depth on it. Can someone explain to me in more detail how this supertag works? I've read about it on the wgfd website...
I just don't see how anybody affords this stuff. If I paid for every hunting app and all the so called best gear that's constantly advertised then I couldn't afford to apply for tag's. Guess I'm doing something wrong cause I got too many bills to afford all this stuff.
I didn't apply at all this year unfortunately, with gas prices the way they are I just simply can't afford to travel that far out west from the east. Plus second child being born in mid September doubt I could convince the wife it's a good idea to miss the birth to chase antelope or elk lol
Wow 11 points, wish I had that problem! You definitely shouldn't have a problem with that many points if so I need to stop wasting money cause I will never be able to catch up with so many in front of me.
Awesome story and memories for y'all, I can't wait for my kids to get old enough so I can share with them the love I have for the outdoors! Congrats to both of you!
That has to be frustrating, I would like to hunt nebraska one day, mainly for turkeys but lack of public land has me hesitant to. What's your take on the turkey population? Hopefully limited non resident tags will help your deer population. I've drove through Nebraska a couple times and it looks...
Same goes here in kentucky, I always go the sportsman's license rout. I've hunted TN a couple times mainly due to living so close, 45 minutes and I'm in TN. But I stopped several years ago mainly due to lack of birds seen and how much out of state license was. I wish kentucky would increase...
Landowners in the elk zones get so many tags, from what I understand they can sell those, Randy even mentioned it a little in the live feed. That's one way there is also a couple other ways but I don't fully understand those enough to go into detail and don't want to spread misinformation. But...
I'm from Kentucky, and I'm 100% for the restoration of elk. I'm glad we have them in our state. But unfortunately I'll never be able to hunt them. It's become too political and only those with deep pockets will have the opportunity. I put in for fifteen years and never drew. Finally had a friend...
Welcome to hunt talk. I love Wyoming, I've only been once just to visit. Can't wait to go back and hopefully hunt the beautiful terrain and wildlife Wyoming has to offer.
I recently purchased a bergara in 30-06 so far I love it. Definitely the best shooting rifle I've ever owned. However I haven't taken it on hunt yet so we will see. But I'm confident it will work just fine.
