Dang, I usually pay $350 to $400 depending on what type of mount I get done. The taxidermist I use is really good it just takes so long to get it back!
That was a quick turnaround on the mount! Looks really good. I'm still waiting on one from from two years ago. Who's your taxidermist? By the way I'm also from West Kentucky. My mom graduated from loan oak high school. My grandma still lives in Calvert city. I'm from the Hopkinsville area...
I'm definitely swinging for the fences, just started building points couple yrs ago. Hopefully pull a random in a decent antelope area in Wyoming! Might try for random in deer as well! Really swinging for the fences on a super tag!
Are my kids (both under 10) the only ones who know who Terence Hill and Bud Spencer are? Now I've gotta go watch My name is nobody. Might just have to watch both Trinity movies too! Gladly I've got all 3 movies on DVD.
Not sure what part of Kentucky your in but $10 an acre is pretty cheap. In western Kentucky it's over $20 an acre. I know of a 25 acre plot that they get 25k a year for. Just this year I also found out that some leases are now weekly. Couple thousand and it's yours for a week, then the next week...
All I've done to mine was free float the barrel and haven't had any issues. I've shot it in July when it's over 90° and just a couple weeks ago when it was -2° kept real good tight groups. I will add that it took me awhile to find one, but I was being picky and wanted it in a wood stock...
Lots of good advice here, I've seen several mentions of Bergara! They make great rifles. I bought one a couple years ago in 30-06 and have nothing bad to say about it. I'm extremely impressed with it.
I'm fascinated by older military style weapons. So I'm really glad you started this thread and look forward to seeing others with successful hints using these type rifles. Here is the only one I have a photo of. I used this Austrian Steyr to harvest this buck a few years ago. I did some work on...

With above average temperatures here in the Midwest the weather finally turned cooler and I was able to fill my tag on a deer that I've had 9 encounters with this fall. Good luck to all those with a tag still in their pocket!
Well she doesn't take my truck anymore during hunting season! And yes you can fit two whole deer in the trunk of a Nissan Maxima! Probably wouldn't have been that bad if I had remembered that dang tarp! Oh well!
As someone who is still planning on my first antelope hunt and acquiring points for Wyoming I really enjoyed reading this! Can't wait til I have enough points chase these amazing animals! Thanks for the read amazing photography! And congratulations!
When I really got serious about hunting out west, which has always been a dream I knew elk was going to be a once in a lifetime tag. But was kinda hoping I could chase deer and antelope every couple years alternating between the two. Don't have the extra cash to go with an outfitter plus the...
Cold steel pocket knife
Sig 320 on belt
Sig p365 on ankle
Too many keys
Flashlight
Work phone and personal phone
Lighter
Wallet
Multi tool
Plenty of tobacco usually 2 cans.
And just now the realization that I carry too much crap!
Man I don't know what to do. I just started buying points 2 years ago, so sitting on 2 points each for lope, deer and elk. I don't have the finances to play multiple states so I put all my dough in Wyoming. I hate to abort now. What's some of y'all's thoughts.
