This is a long, wordy post.......It's hard to find info on these hunts, so I left my info here for someone else or just a passing time read:
Being from South Texas I put in for the draw hunts there every year for the last 15 years or so, I drew two nilgai hunts this last season. Both were...
Before I get crucified for not researching, please know; I have....probably too much.
I have owned the same 270 rifle since my dad bought it for me in south texas when I was 12 years old, 23 years ago. It has worked very well for me and I have been hand loading the same boring load for it for...
Where I grew up a 200-300 yard shot was about par, so a touch further wasn't a tough thing. But I can't stomach the thought of mailing lead 600+ at an animal and then if it doesn't pile up at the shot, having to go find it. I get lost really easy lol hence my handle.
Op I mean this in the most sincere, respectful way I can convey; that needs to be your avatar pic.....you look like a bada$$ with the eye patch holding a sweet looking critter!!
Thanks!
I will say it was still a good feeling last season when they both punched tags with rifles that were essentially turn key shooters for them. They both split their elk 3 ways for my freezer and theirs.
I have been loading and shooting the same load in the same rifle for about 15 years. When CDS capable leupolds came out I was intrigued and it took a few years of shooting over my chrono at different distances and then finally settling on the data enough to send it off to get my free turret. I...
I made the mistake of building up two rifles, load development and loading extra rounds for two buddies. They sent off for their CDS turrets and now won't shoot anything else. I wasn't and still am not comfortable loading for them, I have offered multiple times to show them everything and...
I was lucky enough to draw 2 hunts this last season and shoot a young bull in december during the shotgun hunt over on the east lake tract and one bigger bull on the teniente tract with a 45-70.
Best meat I have in the freezer this year.
Super nice bull OP!!
Never fails, opening morning of any hunt I have to dump at the worst time. I've learned to keep my bow/rifle close when I do.....I'm not above making a good shot from the squaring position lol
I have worked for a couple Air EMS companies, technically the largest certificate holder in the continental US. I highly recommend you look at a membership with GMR (bought amgh over a year or so ago), they have 10 certificates under them and operate all over the world, Global medical response...
