I have always been a .270 guy and learned to like the .270 from an older friend who does my loads for me. He has always hand loaded 150gr Sierra BT's with IMR 4831. My tikka shoots them right at 2770 fps.
Nothing special about the bullet or the load, but it has killed a lot of elk.
Can you print the tag to a PDF? Or even screen capture the page? Not doing this for shady purposes, but I like the idea of keeping a backup electronic copy that can be printed if needed again.
I have been stockpiling cash to buy my Dad out of his shares of our company, so he can retire. I finally sat down and talked with our Morgan Stanley guy about how just holding all this cash is foolish... I invested a couple hundred grand last week, "playing it conservative".... sure doesn't feel...
Sounds like I am late to the party... good luck with whatever new truck you got.
I have tested out all the trucks you mentioned, and I lease all of our trucks for work. I have leased 7 or 8 f150’s since about 2013. All eco boost and most of them fx4’s.
money and performance of the ford I don’t...
All you guys buying in the dip can thank me for my "awesome luck". I moved a large chunk of money into the market last week... then it dipped. I have been born with a special gift for timing markets... I bought my first house in 2007 and was forced to sell in 2009 due to a job change - took an...
Gaia Maps just released a new update, that allows their maps to work with Apple Carplay.....Onx, please follow suit. This is the biggest feature I have wanted for these app's. It sounds like the road is now paved, I hope you can follow it.
I am headed to Argentina in April for a red stag hunt. I am flying United (Billing,MT - Denver - Houston - Buenos Aires). Looking forward to a great trip. My Dad went last year and now we are going back. It seems traveling and evening dealing with rifles in the country is relatively easy. My Dad...
Having hunted many BMA's, and also having rancher friends who have participated in BMA's... I echo many of the same points.
- They need a real economic incentive - In return we want good access (I am totally in support of raising resident tag fees to support this). I don't think going from a...
It was a sad realization for me too. I understand if I posted pictures of an elk with some giant mountain range in the backdrop or some very easily identifiable point, that it would likely be discovered where this elk was killed. It's all speculation how they discovered the location, but here is...
It's was my first archery bull - Guesses are trending low... for perspective, his spread credit is 40 6/8" and his left beam (longest beam) is 52 2/8"
I have no idea how to score elk on the hoof, and after getting this bull, I really realized I have no idea at all how to guess the score of an...
I got my mount back earlier this week. Very happy with the work that Tru-Life Taxidermy in Laurel, MT did. Here are some pictures to show it off, and for fun - Let's play, guess the score. I will post up the official measurements after some guess have been submitted.
A couple of other...
In my experience, this seems to be the normal reaction for heart shots. I have killed several mule deer with heart shots, all of them reared up like a stallion and then fell over dead. I have also seen Bison who were heart shot, did the same thing. To me and my buddies, the stallion rear up...
I had the 4-20 and really did like it. I mounted it onto a tikka t3 in .270. The scope was too big, I felt, for that gun and it seemed to make it off-balanced. But, it shot extremely well and I hunted with the setup for a full season. I now have a 3-15x42 leupold Vx-5hd, that seems to fit the...
I have been happy with Burris. I have experience with the veracity series. I would very pleased with the build quality and glass, only negative I saw was the weight and size of the scope (big and Heavy)... but it was excellent build quality.
