I know I asked this question a few days ago. Not sure if I missed it or if this is new, but I found a T3x with a muzzle thread in a .308.
Some questions about muzzles. I noticed that Tikka shortens the barrel by 2.4 inches to account for a muzzle.
1) What effect does this have on what...
It seems like a well placed high shoulder shot drops the a deer in in tracks. Quick dispatch, less suffering, no problems with recovery etc. Just curious though about meat damage vs the heart/lungs shot.
Permethrin X 1000.
BUT A WARNING. Permethrin is highly lethal to fish. DO NOT cross streams or get boots in ponds etc. Be very careful of this.
DO NOT USE Permethrin on your waders.....
If you keep ALL other variables constant (shot placement, same manufacturer, same brand etc), will the .243 do more meat damage because of it's higher velocity? Thanks.
I was looking at getting the Leupold VX-3i, but I dont think this scope has an adjustment for parallax error right? Is this a big deal? Is it even needed in a hunting situation (< 200 yards).
Thanks.
Thanks for the info.
Do you know the weight of these different rings?
DNZ Game Reaper 1 inch LOW = 5.6oz shipping weight
Warne 4007476 1" Tikka Permanently Attached - MEDIUM Matte Rings = 5.6oz (confirmed on manufacturer website)
Talley Tikka T3 and Tikka Master Scope Mount 1" LOW = 4oz...
Ah thanks. So yeah, looks like I will need the base and the rings then to fit on the standard Tikka rail.
But I assume it also depends on my size of scope because there are a bunch of different rings too.
I'm looking at a Leopold VX-3i, 4.5-14, 40mm Duplex, to attach to a Tikka T3x...
I thought someone mentioned the Tikka T3x comes with the ring bases already installed. Is this correct?
If so, I would only need the rings right? I assume I would need Tikka's rings then because of their proprietary "Sako Optilock" system?
When you buy say a vortex scope and I want to connect it to a new tikka t3x, do I need any other components to do this? Or does the scope come with all required accessories? Thanks.
