Check that the extractor is properly seated. It could be that the cartridge is riding on the extractor and not seating on the bolt face. -

There are many techniques that can be used. Here in Georgia, you are required to have the gator restrained, pulled in close and dispatched by handgun or bangstick. It's similar but there are some big differences. First thing I learned long ago is to get the gator on ice or in a cooler for at least 12 hours to prevent major muscle movement during skinning. Blood stain Antler
The antlers are good. If you want to get the blood off, try some peroxide. But if you plan on "staining" them, just leave it like it is till you're ready and color over the blood.- drexal

Lab traits
You have to train them early. Once they figure it out, they listen very well. If you can't help them figure it out, they can be some of the most hardheaded of dogs. I've had 8 of them over the years. The ones I had as kid never had good training and it showed. They wouldn't listen for spit...- drexal

I was told a story once of a guy who would find an area frequented by turkey. He would run string between trees with fishing hooks hanging off (think of a trotline) at turkey height.
