That's my biggest complain lately. Apparently with all the new staff they're not hiring anybody who actually knows how to edit. There's a grammar mistake or a word misspelled in EVERY story.
The only reason I buy the magazine is to read the stories while I'm on the porcelain throne. I think...
mconway, It depends on the state although I THINK they're all the same. I know when I buy my Wyoming bear license in the spring it is NOT a "Spring Bear License" it is a "Yearly Bear License". If i don't kill one in the springs, like this year, I hold onto the tag and it's good when the season...
I'm gettin' there! Here's some pics I can share. They've gotten bigger every year so can't complain :) . All in Wyoming, all spot and stalk (or spot and shoot rather ;) )
Spring 2009 (6 miles from camp on a day hunt. First bear and was back at camp by lunch time....5th bear I saw that spring)...
Awesome pics!!!!
Hard to tell if he was wounded before or after the eagle got ahold of it. In the 4th and 5th pictures from the bottom it looks as though the eagle is simply feeding on the antelope while it's still alive. It could've done that in the first place and slowly worn it down. Yes...
yep, on the bull i posted about above I had him found by 6:30, enjoyed the moment for 15 minutes or so and got to work. I had the backstraps on my back and the quarters hanging in game bags at about 8:00.
This year I killed my archery bull at 6:00 PM on September 9th. I hiked way in that morning and saw a ton of elk on the opposite side of this valley....4 different groups if I remember right. I decided to go in after them, I was elk hunting after all. Throughout all of that morning and into...
Yes pups will be born and probably refill the ranks nicely. I would doubt if they would completely restock what was lost....and even if this is the case. At least there's still ____<---(insert number here) less moms and dads in any given area.
I've killed one deer by hitting him in the neck (my first one...on the run) and 2 elk I've hit in the neck. Only one elk was on purpose. Like everyone else said it's just lack of meat loss and everything I've ever hit in the neck has been down for the count.
The deer I hit was running left to...
Read this on my phone last night as I was out of town! Never been happier to see a couple hunters get it done! Loved every minute of that story! After all the unlucky breaks and close calls OYOA have had this season you guys came through big with what should be a great episode and what I would...
I think I would've practiced on all twelve of those coyotes. That's at least 3 episodes in itself!! :D :D . In all seriousness, I will have fun tagging along on round 2. Come on boys!
Zach, yes all of this is based on one REALLY bad winter. So yes, but the G&F did nothing to offset that really bad winter. Most of the regions involved in the "Extreme winter kill" are general tags. Not saying they should go to limited quota, just saying the deer got decimated by the winter and...
If only the people could be held under control I'm sure elk would thrive there, but when people are poaching them, and there's not a huge number it really hurts their chances! Would be great to see elk all over!
This will be great!
and Branden since I know you'll be reading this, any luck on your wolf adventures....I haven't gotten big, toothy, doggy pic with a non smiling face in the foreground so I'm assuming no....but figured I'd ask anyways.
Good luck to EVERYONE out hunting those things!
