Ammo is actually very reasonable($320/case.) Brass is also 50 cents a piece or less.
Hornadys ammo is very consistent and too accurate to justify reloading although I don't blow through a lot of ammo.
Parent case is the 300 rcm and mag bolt face.
Definitely...first season was 65 degrees at 10k feet and a full moon this year.
Just don't go with the season I pick...I always pick the hot ones.
I'm 3 elk tags deep in CO with 0 elk. Thinking a 1st rifle either sex tag may be what I apply for next time.
It's a great round. Have only killed antelope and whitetail with it as far as big game. I have a buddy who packed one on our elk hunt this fall but unfortunately he wasn't able to test it on a bull.
As mentioned it bucks the wind very well.
